I am in the process of making a bunch of green grocery bags. I took a paper bag I really like and cut it apart and copied it. Mine has a flat bottom with a cardboard insert to make it easier to pack square. Thanks for the web site.

Hey, these look easy and fun. I have some canvas grocery bags I have been using for at least 10 years now. They are great. Happy sewing.

Tanks for posting that. i have a bunch of bags i made from upholstery samples someone gave me, but i never thought of putting a contrasting bottom section. There is nothing more fun than creating something useful from something some one else was ready to pitch in the trash. And they look so great....Karin

Not sure if anyone else has tried this... I got the canvas painters dropcloth in the painting section at (gasp) WalMart- huge piece of fabric for about $8. You can dye it and it seems to holdup as good as fabric section canvas.

Also, here's a link for fused plastic bags... (if you have them and are so inclined to use them in some meaningful way)

Awesome pattern, Alee - and Kim, such a great idea for getting the canvas! And the fused plastic bags - that is just the coolest. I can't wait!!! I'm excited to try this one...

XOXO, Libbie
