OH MY! what a dear book .. got it from one of the farmgirls!
i love, love, love, love, love it!!!

it is on my 'to do' list in this lifetime to make bunches of the doll quilts in this book (patterns are included!)

filled with olde photographas and stories of pioneer children, their playthings, their lives, their families .. settling our country

and be still my heart .. there are a few pages where DOLLS are pictured .. and they are my very own guru friend's dolls:
GAIL WILSON!!! (i have sooooooo many of her kits .. i do believe i will start making them! will save some to sew with Sofia when she is a little older) .. i taught granddaughter Jennifer to sew when she could barely sit on my knees between me and the sewing machine .. her first 'sewing job' with the machine was to push the 'backward stitch' button .. and i swear .. by the time she was a teenager .. she was making dolls as well as any primitive adult doll-maker i knew!

she now has her own real live doll (great grandson Andrew) .. but i hope there are some girls in her future .. and i hope that someday .. she will find the time and desire to pick up needle and thread)

she took a class from GAIL when Gail Wilson came to teach at my dolly club in maryland (Crooked Tree Hollow Doll Club) .. she has had lessons from some of the BEST!

I wondered about that book. That is one I would like to at least read if I can get it through inter-library loan here. Thanks for filling us in on what a treasure it is.

I have that same book! So far I've only looked at the pictures and read SOME of the text. I have more time now to work on projects though, so I will have to drag the book out and look it over again. First, I really should finish one of the 4 quilts (or was if FIVE?) I ALREADY have started! (full size though. a bit big for DOLLY!) Let us know if you make anything out of it. we'd love to see pictures! ~~~Tracy

I got this book for my sister-in-law for Christmas and ended up keeping it - don't worry the gift she ended up getting was really cool too. Anyway I haven't tried anything out of it but it is on my list. I love the written history in it
