It has stopped snowing (for now) and is melting off but it is so gloomy outside! uugghh! I so need sunshine....I am going to one of those tanning parlors(hopefully) this week and get a sun/vita-D fix...as was suggested by a dear farmgirl friend.

The Spokane paper said it was suppose to be in the 60's maybe even reach 70 nu by the end of the week so hang in there. I also read that this year was the second snowiest year in Spokane. Soon it will be a distant memory. JoAnn

We've had the exact same weather here winter, spring, winter, spring, //siberia, winter. and then another tiny splat of spring. I think I'm going bonkers. We still have no greenery but the very early bulbs . It's got to get here someday........Karin

I'm so sorry...I hate a "weather tease"!!! I think we're finally out of the wintery mix, but rain and storms tonight through the weekend. It's definitely spring in Kentucky!

Crossing fingers for some sunshine and better days ahead...

Katmom, you should live in the Tri-Cities!! It has been reasonably nice these past few days. In fact, it is supposed to be 70°F on Friday. Beat that with a stick will you? I'm looking forward to going outside and doing some garden work.

I've got a slightly different problem, yet no less depressing.

I've been battling allergies for at least a week. Ok, I thought, no problem. But this year seemed a bit worse. I convinced myself it's because the forsythia bushes next door have grown bigger since last year.

But then it hit me. WHAM! Like a runaway John Deere. I caught a massive cold, and sometime around Wednesday or Thursday I realized my defeat, and marched off to bed.

Yesterday it was in the 40s and cloudy, I obviously wasn't missing anything. Then, Lo and Behold! Today it was at least 67° and sunny!!! And here I am stuck in bed with a pile of tissues the size of Mt. Everest and not even enough energy or motivation to go make myself a pot of tea.

You can only imagine my misery.

Hay Marie,
Good News, Bad news....
today here in the Spokane area we actually had very wonderful weather....yippeeee and then the goober of a weather reporter spoils it all by saying we will have snow again by mid week!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
Firemama~Amanda & I just unpacked out flip flops, in fact she went & out did me buy playing in her Garden and getting a little sunburned....I was inside baking scones,,,,& all I got was a warm kitchen...
But I suspect we are finally in the wakes of better weather,,,I saw a butterfly today and I have been finding more creepy crawly bugs too so I guess everything is coming out of hybernation..

My darling of a husband was out in his "ManCave" working on my little trailer, he even snuck away for a drive in our 1954 Chevy Bel Air....yep, I am thinking Spring has finally sprung here in Spokane...
So I guess that means I won't need your 80 degree weather after all Jennifer...lol!

Marie, I hope you feel better asap, it is no fun being sick when the weather is wonderful.

We have high hopes here in the Chicago area that today will be our final "snow showers" day for the spring. They are calling for 60's and sunshine all next week and by God, we are all hoping it stays that way!

Grace,
Yesterday I actually was feeling a little bit better [THANK YOU!!! for the well wishes, I think it helped!], and decided that since it was so nice out I would finally move my meyer lemon and fig trees outside, but then I'd get right back in bed because the last time I was sick I was up and about the first day I felt better, over did it and ended up back in bed 4 more days.

Anyway, I was fussing with the (huge) pots, then I heard a high-pitched gravely squeak.
It's the resident hummingbird. He was screaming at me for not filling his feeder. I felt so bad, cause I'm out of hummer food and plain sugar water is bad for them.
And in my front flower bed the bleeding hearts and wood anemonies and sweet violets I planted last year have come back with reinforcements! Spring has sprung!

Oh, and upon waking up this morning... it was cloudy and in the 50s... *sigh*

Not if you live in Wisconsin. Snow forever, 2 nice days then 7 days of snow/rain!!!!! Today the sun comes out. Then goes away, then comes back, then...... At least there is nothing falling from the sky. I just keep putting on my sunscreen, sunglasses and think sunny warm thoughts. My hot flashes make it a reality.

Yep, yep it was more than bloody hot. Can't handle those 30+ degree temp swings. Two weekends ago it was cool and breezy then this past weekend it shot up to 98 in Moorpark, 95 in Ventura. Mima - it was even miserable in Camarillo. Now we're dropping back down into the low 70's and 60's and may get rain by this weekend. If that happens Earth Day will be a sloshy mess. My poor little brain can't handle the fluctuations and my garden dosen't know what to do.

Grace - keep me posted about your 2009 trip. I'll start practicing the martinis, but don't know about the fishing (if it's ocean) I get seasick

Ok,,,so, did I say rain yesterday???: guess what we got today??? come on,,, guess....give up? SNOW,,,well more like hail but everything was covered and yet my daughter had just a wee bit & over by where my hubby works, less then 4 miles away...nothing, no rain, no snow...

Debi, stay outta L.A. unless you are going to the garment/fabric district....& shame on you going w/o me!!!!

Jen, I have faith in you girl!!!! martini's are easy to make & easier to drink!!!! ugh! 98 degrees in Mrpk? wowzer...
but the good thing is it will cool down...It usually gets almost cold just before June then come mid june hot again.
As for the fishing, I prefer stream & lake, not into ocean....to smelly! lol!

Tresa, welcome back "mommy"....and 1 word..."SUNSCREEN".
hugz to you all.
