Now you get down there and sign up for your check. You can bet next year I will be signing up for mine, not leaving that money just sitting. I got things to buy from MARY JANE GIRLS. ha. NANCY JO

MIss Wilma, what you did was tithing. The whole idea of tithing is to give back to the earthly source of our inspiration and spirituality to help keep it going. It seems to me that your contribution fits that definition perfectly. You tithe not only materially but also in love. Your angels must be very proud indeed.

Miss Wilma you are so right. We support our church but we believe the Lord calls us to take care of each other. Sometimes all a soul needs is a kind word and a hand up.

Well I will tell you this one, I have the highest regard fo a church, To me its Holy and to be treated as such, well as the young ones do some of them were just dressing indecent, now growing up in a very strict church that bothered me, so when I slacked off on going one of the deacons came talked to me well like aunt Jane of KY I just hauled off and told him if I wanted to see naked women I would just stay home and watch TVI guess its just me but I cant see religion when some are setting around with their boobs hanging out, Believe it or not dressing got a little more decent

We went through some of the same things at our old church ( we have moved). Yes we believe God takes you as you are but, there is respect that needs to be shown. We actually did a study for the pre teens and teenagers on respect. The men at our church covered how the boys should respect young women. We ladies covered how the girls should respect themselves and how dress and conduct plays into recieving respect. It made a big differance in the dress coming through the church doors. Our youngest son is 17 and the way some of the girls dress is scary.

Ladies, this is why I am no longer pastoring a church, but ministering on my own. The church these days doesn't quite cut it with me. I believe parents must be the ones to teach their children about decency and be accountable when they don't. No church can do that for them. I believe the role of the pastor is to teach God's word (which is why I teach the Aramaic scriptures) and to actively minister to the people ~ for example, get down and give blankets and food to the homeless like we do here in Portland and I know you girls do wherever you are, and counsel someone who needs to find out what to do in their lives to make them work (which is essentially what we farmgirls do for each other and others in our own lives). I voluntter at places where I know I will make a difference like the Paws Team, which ministers to the pets that belong to the homeless. We give them food, leashes and collars, pet clothes like slickers to keep off the rain, and we have a team of vets who give shots and whatever medical help is needed. To me all this is ministry - and you can't do it in a church.
To me, churches and organized religion can do more harm than good through divisiveness ("My God is better than your God" "My way is the only true way") and judgemental discrimination. We are taught from too many pulpits that God's word can be twisted to our own ends.
Miss Wilma is an example of tithing and spreading love and goodness. And she's just farmgirl working for love in the world. Together we can make a difference.
love, Patricia

Miss Wilma you are one of the sweetest souls I know. When I'm feeling down I come here to the forum and you or one of the other farmgirls has something to say that makes me smile. You have a very kind heart and I look forward to meeting you in person someday.

I am just a little indian on the totem pole, there are hundreds of us out there that Love Mary Jane . All of us in our way do what we can, As you know I am in taxes now so if one of you girls come up with something I might not have a penny left to do anything after uncle Sam gets done with me. (But where did all the money go, do you all have that problem)
