Working on Mothers Day baskets this morning. It's a fundraiser I am doing for our Relay for Life team. I am putting together baskets for garden, bath, or kitchen. Each basket will have a couple of homemade things like potholders, doilies, scrubbies, journals, cards, etc.

Then i am going up to the Fire Academy with the Recruit Class to do their live fire training at 3. We will be there until 3 in the morning.

Tomorrow---- sleep. =)

Getting ready for a Tybee Island (Georgia coast) trip on Monday. Whole family going.Me,hubby, both our grown sons and families,(including the grandkids, the Father and Mother-in-laws and a brother-in-law. The weather is stormy today. Even with rain I can't wait to have the whole family together. We haven't all been together since Christmas.

You can never have enough friends.

Re-potting seedlings and more seedlings....all morning. Then, after I send a nice, nasty email to Scotts for the AWFUL so-called Premium Potting Soil, I'll be digging up a path and paving it with a bunch of flat rocks that are now free of the snow and ice. It's now 1:25 here and it finally got up to 44 degrees. I've been waiting all day for the ground to thaw enough to dig this path.

Heather, you and your dh are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hey Napa -

Of course I will. When I was a little girl, growing up in the Appalachian mountains, my daddy made moonshine. This was what he gave me when bronchitis, colds or flu hit. It works better than any commercial cough syrup I know.

1 pint of Moonshine (If no moonshine try vodka)
1/4 C of Chamomile dried
1/4 C of Lobelia dried

Mix together in glass jar. Shake and store in cool dark place for about 7-10 days. Shake once or twice a day. Strain and put the liquid back in jar. When you are ready for cough syrup do the following:

Take a 1/4 cup of the herbal mixture and stir in 3 tablespoons of honey, mix well and take by the spoonful as needed for cough.

You can also make a hot toddy by putting a shot of the herbal mixture into a mug of hot water and add honey to taste.

Watch out or everyone around you will suddenly develop a cough!

We are going to moms for some BBQ and to celebrate my little sisters 18th Bday. Her wedding is in about 6 days so I'm sure we'll talk about that. Then I'm comming home to clean my house from top to bottom and get it ready for her PJ party on Tuesday. I have a few little things to touch up on Abbys flower girl dress and I have some "wedding attendees" gifts to finish. Can't wait for next Saturday!

Check out my latest projects and all the news from my chaotic little world!

So. My weekend plans significantly changed as of 10:30 last night. I got to leave the fire academy to go get exrays of my ankle, which I sprained-severely, no obvious fracture- coming out of the fire tower. So now I get to sit with my foot up and take percoset and play on the computer. I really didn't and don't have time for this~
