Had to go to the quick care because I am having such bad UTI problems, back on antibiotics *sigh* and now the doctor says I have bad cystitis. I have never been fond of pain 
My health has not been very nice to me this year, hoping with better weather to get out and move more, but right now I'm just in a lot of pain. I feel better just posting because I know my farm sisters are here to care for me and send good thoughts

Annika This will sound weird but really helps....cook aspargus, eat it and drink the water that you cook it in. Frozen aspargus seems to work almost as well as fresh. An old German woman told me to do this years ago when I was having bladder problems, she said it cleanses the bladder, and it really helped. Drink cranberry juice too.

Annika, I feel for you girl. Pain is not usefull at all. I agree about the remedies of asparagus and cranberry juice. A natural antibiotic is GRAPEFUIT extract, they sell it in health stores, use it in a drink and use it in the water of your bath. it has no bad taste or odor and is efficient.

Annika - I am sorry you have this - it is so umcomfortable and painful. This is nothing new at all, but don't forget to drink LOTS AND LOTS of water. I mean drown yourself for a few days, and stay in the habit of drinking a lot of water. IT helps so much to flush out your system. (hugs)
Oh, and I am going to mention the asparagus idea to another friend of mine who has a bad uti right now.

Try to stay away from anything with caffeine in it...coffee, tea, chocolate, Pepsi, Mt. Dew, cocoa. Caffeine really aggravates any kind of bladder problem.

and hubby is out right now running a few errands so I just buzed him and told him to pick up some asparagus cause I'm gonna do that asparagus thing.
thanks gals for that bit of advice..I really hope that works for me as I'm so tired of this kidney thing too.
and I'm on the 2nd round of antibiotics..ugh.

thanks Patricia..sounds like both Annika and I need it lately. Annika I read online that organic apple juice a 8 oz in the morning and at night is helpful too.
this afternoon I plan on cooking up some asparagus as one of the girls mentioned here.
I am on my 2nd round of antibiotic. first 3 day round of cipro didn't work so I'm finishing up a 7 day round of another antibiotic. uggh. so I definitely feel your pain..literally.
hugs to you too gal. last time I had anything like this was 26 yrs ago..wow! so this one threw me for a loop. hopefully we both will get better real soon from this mess. we just gotta be good girls and drink lotsa water.

Tina, I hope we both feel better too. You've had yours way too long. I hope these antibiotics work. I hate taking antibiotics, but when you need 'um you need 'um. Thank you for the moral support and concern. I'm going to try everything that everybody mentioned. Thank all of you for the advice and good thoughts. Still waiting to feel better, but I am optimistic that something will help soon.

yeah..after the 3 day round of antibiotic I was told to come back in 3 weeks to the dr. which I did, and that first round of antibiotics didn't take..so I have been on a 7 day course of antibiotics and have 1 day left on those..then I go back in 5 weeks.
so yeah..my bout with it has lasted too long.frustrating too. but I'm drinking lots of water.

You might also want to do a Google search for interstitial cystitis for information about the IC diet which is essentially a low acid diet. You should be able to find a list of foods to avoid. If you can't find it let me know and I can mail you a copy.

I hope you and Tina are both doing better now from the antibiotics. What about cranberry capsules? Maybe they can help. Yes, lots of water to flush those toxins out.
I am on an antibiotic as well for UTI after changing my stent. Thankfully, I feel better already after two days on them. Will be praying for both of you. Pain really stinks.

Clare, pain DOES stink! many thanks for your prayers and kind thoughts. I'm glad that you are feeling better already
I'm going to go back to the doctor today and see what they can do at the quick care clinic. I'm tired of this infection *blech* and want it gone. Plus I'm picking up some cranberry pills!

thank you Clare. I have been drinking aloe vera juice and sometimes mixing some blueberry/acai juice with lots of water.
I just finished up the 7 day dose of antibiotics and really hoping and praying that it has done the trick.
