So..hubby re-tilled a large area of the yard yesterday, then raked it all smooth..then went and bought 24 tomato plants and planted those.... then today he went and got alot of broccoli plants, some cucumber, some crook neck squash and some cayenne pepper plants.
Looks like we'll have lots of things growing in the yard this time.yay!
I'll be getting out my huge stash of seeds in the next couple of days to sow some flower seeds in what remains of the large tilled area.
Should be fun to watch everything grow.
-----------
I love this time of year. Planning and planting and playing in the dirt.

they will be great things as long as we can keep them alive in this weird north Florida soil..part beach sand, part clay, and part who knows what else.
it is always a challenge for me to grow veggies here..I don't understand it..I can have wonderful success with lots of different flowers but veggies have always, always been a challenge for me to grow and grow succesfully here in this soil..and that is even when I add cow manure, and other things to the soil.
So..we shall see. Crossing my fingers that we have a successful year of veggie growing.

on a good note though..all of my berry plants are starting to look lush and green and putting forth new leaves/growth. So that is terrific..if I don't see raspberries this year I can look forward to them next year at the rate the plants are giving a good show of things.

Your posts make me realize that soon we will be experiencing garden time as you are now. I CAN'T WAIT!! We have been having snow for the past few days--not usual for us---so gardening has to be put aside for awhile. MB
