Would you believe I got these last week and forgot to post pictures of them? I have had a cold and it must have got me confused. Of course it doesn't take to much to confuse me, Anyway I put them away and I was upstairs this morning and saw where I had put them and thought , WOW those are nice, forgot I had them. Better take a picture. So I don't have to go to the thrift today because I have something new. If I got confused more often I would save a lot of money.

I was admiring your ivy yesterday, but I figured something must be up when I didn't get to see your latest fabulous finds. Thank goodness Kathie came through with her bunch of goodies. The box and the valentine are really sweet.....

Miss Wilma,
Had to look it up on the map, I'm about three hours from there. I see on google when I looked it up that they have a big show up there.

Nancy, I must tell you a good thrifting story. Last week I headed out early to my favorite thrift store in the next town over. As I approached the church I could see that there were LOTS of cars everywhere and everything was crazy in that general area. I couldn't get to the parking lot as the street was closed. Well, I was determined, so I drove around the block. On the other side, the street was roped off and there were about a dozen old timey cars parked in from of the Historic Lake County Jail-where Dillinger escaped in 1934 (I had noticed the building was getting a face lift a few weeks ago). Anyway...I was SO disappointed! I had made a special trip! I was ready to enjoy my day out! Why were all these people blocking MY way!? I was staring to get steamed & decided I would just park down the street and walk the few blocks to the thrift.

As I got closer to the building I could see hundreds of people, mostly women lining the street. I am thinking "WHAT on EARTH?". Well I never got to the thrift that day... but I did get to see Johnny Depp filming his new movie! LOL The crowd was screaming his name so he sauntered to the middle of the street to give us a low theatrical bow. Quite a show. Not as good as the thrift, but still an interesting day.

Funny Rhonda. We are sick if we think getting something at the thrift beats Johnny Depp. But thats ok, we can take what we get at the thrift home with us.

Nancy - your Cedar box REALLY took me back. Mom and Dad had one almost exactly like it on top of their chest of drawers all the years I was growing up.

It held bills and my daddy's paychecks. They were very frugal and they always had several uncashed paychecks in there at one time. When I would see all those, it made me feel so secure knowing mom and dad were doing okay if they did not have to run to the bank to cash the paychecks. Funny, the things we remember.

JEANNIE,
They must have been popular at that time, because My dad had one too. Wish I still had his. That is why when I saw this one I bought it.

Nancy, Are you feeling any better
Drink hot tea with honey and a touch of lemon,
I have a pattern book of amish dolls
I think it is in the half walk -in- throw in closet
I dread lugging all that stuff and packing it up to be halled to the good will
I love the dolls, I am not giving that away, they can just forget it, Ha. Pinkroses

Nancy Jo, you are just good for my spirit. Whether it is an endearing comment at my blog or just your plain all time cuteness (is that a word), you always leave me smiling!

Guess what I got at the thrift on Friday on my way home from the boys doctor visit. I found the most scrumptious APRON for 2.99. I was doing a Nancy Jo dance right there in the middle of the store! Really, I was! Of course, it doesn't rate with Johnny Depp but it was the best I could do! LOL

Hugs
