I'm a reader, too, and I'd like to put you ladies on to a great source of inexpensive books, music, and tapes. It's Half.com by Ebay. I've been buying from them for about 5 years and sometimes I find books as low as 50 cents or 75 cents. If they ship media mail you end up paying about $3 for a book.

After I'm done with it, if I don't love it dearly enough to keep I send it to someone I think would enjoy it or give it to a rest home or hospital in town.

I'm also a writer (former reporter now freelancer and working on a mystery novel) and I feel guilty for not paying full price for my fellow author's work, but I'm also not able to swing that financially for all I read. I also use the library a lot. We have a beautiful new on here in Salt Lake City.

My favorite mystery series currently is Alexander McCall Smith's Ladies #1 Detective stories. He's a master at making you feel you're right there in Africa with all his wonderful characters.

Happy reading!

Happy Wishes!

Utahfarmgirl - You are so right, I love half.com for books and movies and as a fellow writer, I feel the same way about not paying full price, but the budget doesn't always allow that. I write romantic thrillers and have one book finished and am currently querying agents and collecting rejection letters. I'll have to try the mystery series you recommended, I'm always on the lookout for good books to read!

Sara ~ much good luck to you in your quest for publication! I look forward to seeing your book in my local Borders and B& N and I promise I'll buy it there and not on half.com heh heh! Keep us posted on your progress!

Hugs,
Patricia

Happy Wishes!

Nothing published yet, but I'm sending my work out, so maybe someday!
