When I think of the quintessential farm dog, the border collie comes to mind (at least in my opinion, but I know you guys might have other breeds in mind!)...

I recently had a chance to work on a non-profit farm that rescues border collies! And they also help kids. Read on, and if you like to help, find out how:

Hey Zan---good link. We have a Border Collie/Corgi mix. The quintessensial herd animal. His name is Cinch and herds the cats, birds and is in trouble right now because he was in the neighbors pasture with her horses. MB

Hey Zan, well, I think it's fabulous. You know my first rescue was a bc named Sweet Pea--a 3 month old full blooded bc who came to the shelter with an aussie cattledog from the same farm. They got themselves into a bit of trouble chasing and ended up at the shelter. I couldn't GIVE that little girl away--it broke my heart, and at the 11th hour, I sent out a plea to 2 bc rescues and one lady from Minnesota responde. Within 24 hours, we had that little girl on the "underground railroad for dogs" (as my husband calls it) and she made it to her destination to live with 4 other bc's and is NOW a national agility title holder! I'm telling you, what, if you have a love for these dogs go for it!!!! Oh, and kids, too? Well, what could be better than kids and dogs?

This was her at the shelter

And THIS IS HER NOW!!!! VAROOM!!!!Here is the link to my post about her--her name is now, Tucker, for Kentucky...

I know from our emails how much you love this breed--I really hope this works out for you!!!!
