Frannie- My dad would go crazy for that Lincoln pillow!! He loves everything Lincoln! In fact, he has a Lincoln mask (done in plaster) hanging on the fireplace. I need to take a photo one day and show you all of his treasures. You always find the coolest things. :)
got these little 'grubby' candle pockets .. as 'inspiration' to make my own versions .. thought they'd look cute with a dolly!
couldn't resist this sweet photo of two little children hanging clothes on a clothesline!
DELTA DAWN .. what's that flower you have on? And did i hear you say .. he was a meetin' you here today? OH GOSH .. WHAT A PRECIOUS PHOTO OF A LITTLE OLDE LADY ALL 'DID UP'!
I FOUND ANOTHER 'CASKET COVER' .. the lady i got it from told me it was a 'double' mennonite shawl .. but i have gotten others very similar to this in Pennsylvania .. where i was told they are indeed 'casket covers' .. it is over six feet long and just about wide enough to cover a casket and drape around the four sides. i got it to make black rag dolls with .. but it is in perfect condition .. sooo .. i doubt that i will ever be able to cut into it! i have one (AND a shawl) that are a bit 'worn' with a few tatters that i will use instead!
LOVED these balls of olde black hand-spun thread .. one is thicker than the other. i love these for hand-sewing on dollies and other primitive home-mades.
i got 'lots of littles' to use as dolly embellishments .. and oh my .. an ADORABLE painted wooden RABBIT wheelbarrow .. for Sofia and Lucas to use as an Easter Basket ... will post a picture of it soon. (it was hand-made by the nephew of the people in the candy pretzel booth next to ours).
Wow Mammy, you dun good! :-p I swear I love everything...and I'm not one to be into that style but wow it all is so great!!! Glad it was worth your while hehe.
Love all of your treasures Frannie that you "collected" on your little shopping trip, esp those saying signs...but yes oh so true of the memories! Hope that you are also enjoying your lovely treasures that I gave ya when we met up...
