Life is never dull at the Funny Farm and Guests are always making themselves at home. To see my newest basket guest visit my blog site. The last couple of days have been anything but dull - tons of tears, tons of fears but in the end much joy, kisses and blessings.

Awww....she reminds me so much of my little Pearl when she was just a baby...a preemie that I raised. She fit in a shoebox when she was born..the kids and I spoiled her rotten and we have paid for it ever since. She is an awful spoiled brat. Your picture makes me want to do it all again!!! Lucky you!

The sweetest face ever! Better not let my daughter see that, or she'll want a baby lamb in her laundry basket...and I'd have a hard time saying no to that!! Sharon

Fran, I love that idea too - seeing how I just made brownies and had to have two... I think I earned them.
The first time this good old boy said that about her - I was really offended. It was like he was making a comment about one of my children and I was ready to fight. After he explained it I realized that society really does a number on us women and body image. I am proud of my small HAY BELLY, I eat more veggies then anything else and have prudced two wonderful, strong, young men... Stand Proud - Show off those HAY BELLIES

Hi Zan
I find that the tongue cycle is best to keep their fleeces white and bright, but between keeping the cat's coat in purrfect condition and now this little one - my tongue is going to be very busy.....
Just KIDDING
Oh My, Stop me, I am out of control........

It is amazing how much fun you can have when the snow storm outside makes you walk sideways and the ice hangs off your eyelashs while trying to convince your hens to get inside the coop for a half hour.
Mishka's newest trick was she figured out how to get up the stairs and hide behind the toilet tank. This time as my heart beat was going thru the roof it was the cat who told me where she went. Clem is having a hard time excepting an addition to the house. He keeps putting his butt in her face and gets devilish delight out of waking her up from a dreamfilled sleep. That sibling stuff is suc a drag.
I visited all your sites while Mishka was napping on my lap - great places and I have marked them to revisit often. If you are ever in my neck of the woods you are welcome to come and stay a while at the Funny Farm - who know what will be living in the house.....

Well, the two boys who lived in the house last year because of the blizzards we had are now great big guys outside in their own barn and this fall will get to be the breeders on the farm. They have not forgotten their time with me because each day when I go outside to feed them they first want kisses and me to sit down and the crawl into my lap for rubs and hugs. This is much easier when they where little - now they have a horn span of about two feet and they tip the scales at about 95 pounds. They are still growing but they will always be my little guys.
As for Mishka (Mischa) she had a tuff night, we had a little tummy trouble with with a herbal tea I made her and walking around the house until her bowels moved, it was a worry filled night. This morning she has eaten a half a bottle and done her business several times. After a half hour of body rubs, head kisses and rocking she is back in her basket for morning nap and I can get to work.
Today I hope to do my seed starting in my toliet paper tub pots, finish combing the Buffalo fiber that I dyed about a month ago.
Have a great day all and I hope to get new pictures on the blog soon.

Oh we all have learned those tricks when we have kids (two and four legged). I must say I just wrap her up like you would a human baby, give her a bottle and then do things with one hand. I get those things done that require two hands when she naps and when I can not see straight anymore I have her sleep in the basket while I set the alarmclock for a two hour cat nap. Mother's of small children know what it is like but the only thing I can say about two legged babies are there is much more equipment to contain them, four legged babies can get out of things much quicker and their learning curve is faster.
As I am typing this she is sound asleep in the bathroom - the little space heater is going with music playing. I have the laundry going, dinner slow cooking in the oven, tomorrows dinner in the crock pot, dye pots on the top of the stove my next etsy project laied out on the table to work on when she is awake because I can let her run around the kitchen without messing up the carpet. One thing women are very good at is multi tasking even when your children have four leggs and a tail.
Life is great when you roll along on skates.

Such a sweet little baby, Grace. I'd never get anything done at all. I'd just want to fuss, cuddle and just sit and watch that sweet little face! ;)

Your right it is very tempting but the other animals want their time and feed too..... Also at 2:30 in the morning when you have not slept for several days you can not even get those tired eyes to focus on that sweet face.
She now has a great new trick - if I place her in the bathroom with the space heater, music and blankets she will go to sleep but when she wakes up she refuses to eat. I have to force her mouth open to get the bottle in. However, if I let her nap with me on my lap then when nap time is over she is eager and willing to eat her bottle. For those who do not think animals are thinking creatures - THINK AGAIN !
Have a wonderful day all

How very true, Grace! They know EXACTLY what they're doing--just ask my 4 dogs and 3 cats. Master manipulators, all of them.
Wishing you rest and plenty of sunshine!!!

Oh MY, Grace!!!! That Clem, he is a stinker, isn't he? Sounds very much like our Jack Sprat, who resents the OTHER black animal in our household (Elie, our lab mix) and at every turn, bats at him with his paws when E. walks under tables, etc...
I'll tell you what though, I can NOT get enough of that little Mischka! And that photo of her eating the table cloth should be framed :)
