Well, I really did wake up with a fierce sinus headache. And I really did intend to stay at home and rest...but I had to go to the bank and withdraw money for the first farm furnace payment. It's just that my bank was robbed...yes, the day before, a crazy man with what turned out to be a fake/broken gun held up my little neighborhood bank. When the police surrounded him and ordered him to STOP!, he didn't. In fact, he brandished the 'not a gun' at them and drove off. Anyhow, before I left the house the next day, the noon news came on and there was the little girl reporter, standing at my bank door interviewing people. So I figured that I better not go there right away and be on the news, since I was sick in bed!So I went to a nearby thrift store until the coast was clear at the bank. Here's what I got:
This nice boxed set of Beatrix Potter books. The original bookstore price was $60.00. I paid more than usual(for me) - $9.99, but I really like them a lot. I'm on volume #8!
Next, this Japanese majolica basketThe handle had been repaired, but I love this colorful stuff. Finally, this little Boyd's bunny girl.
After this, I went to the bank and really did go home and take a nap. I even slept through General Hospital and most of Oprah! LOL! And I promise not to do this again.....

Janice, I think you did the wise thing, by avoiding the bank and going to the thrift store. What else could you do. and by the way---ya did just fine. MB

Wow, what an exciting day (robbery, thrifting, OH MY!). You all have such great thrifts. We got jack. Sometimes you just need a day off, you know. I'm thinking that I feel a headache coming on, myself.

Mima - When they found the gun, it was a real gun(looked very large to me). But it was broken and unworkable. It looks as though he wanted to commit suicide, but couldn't do it himself, so he wanted the police to do it for him.

Janice you are a hoot. It reminds me of the story of the feller that went to the ballpark after calling in sick, got on the screen cheering up and down. Then he saw his boss a few rows down and he realized he had been caught, only to find out they both called in sick.

Love those Beatrix Potter books, especially around Easter time.
