We are suppose to get very bad weather later today, so I rushed right out to the thrift. I will have to stay in tomorrow. Anyway I got a ba-zilion buttons, and other good stuff. I baked a bunch of cookies. They said we might lose power. So at least we will have cookies to eat.

What??? Nancy Jo stay IN??? No way, Lea! And if she did, how could the rest of us live through her? And Nancy Jo, I thought you were exaggerating when you said a bazillion buttons. But no, I think you may be right. And about the electric yo-yo.....what does it look like? Just a regular one? Could you and me one of those cookies? I exercised a while ago, and I'm very weak and need some energy. :D

Now I really wasn't planning on going today, BUT, they are calling for bad weather conditions later, and that means I can't go tomorrow. SOOOOOO I was pretty much forced into going today. The weathermen seem to run my life.

Well I arrived home and can hardly believe your good fortune. What a treasure trove of buttons! Marvelous. Now you had to go and make oatmeal cookies. I finally made a pineapple upside down cake just this week to satisfy my hunger from the last time you posted a dessert ... now I'll have to make oatmeal cookies too. I am so impressionable when I see food pictures. Don't even let me see a Big Mac commercial, I'd have to drive 30 miles to town just to get one! LOL

So glad you got out today. Stay warm & safe!

Nancy Jo, I can really relate to your button find, the good ones always seem to have old garter belt thingies and lots of old snaps and the occasional key or wingnut. You must be the queen of thrifting. I am very impressed. Cookies are a brilliant thing to have when facing bad weather. I was sorting buttons last night and I found a little jar I had forgotten about, I had to put the top in hot water in order to pry it off. There were lots of little shell buttons but they had been chopped off clothes and had been sewed on with a vengeance. Whoever sewed those babies on meant business...Thanks for sharing. Keep warm...Karin

Well we didn't lose power, but we will eat the cookies anyway.
Karin- it is funny what you find in with the buttons.I found a skate key, a garter, a clock key, religious metals, two marbles, tiddley winks, play money. I sort all the buttons out then put them in a strainer and wash them with lots of hot water and soap. I guess I'm kind of a MONK, person, if you have ever watched that show. Anyway the buttons are clean.!
