at the Puyallup Fair Grounds? I almost always go but I missed it this year. For those of you who haven't been it's FABULOUS! HUGE! Sewing experts and vendors from all over the country set up in two huge buildings at the fairgrounds and sell all kinds of new sewing patterns, gadgets, fabric and stitchery stuff and they have workshops, classes, fashion shows, etc. for four days. I hope I didn't miss something great by not going this year.........

I missed it too. Well I haven't gone for the last 3 years, but I used to go every year and always spent way to much but had a blast.

Oh, I am sorry you weren't able to go, sheri and kathy. It was fabulous. I attended many hands on classes and seminars. thanks to my mil watching ds I was able to go wednesday, thursday, friday AND saturday! I learned so much, purchased great resources from instructors (such as how to alter patterns and improve sewing methods to be more productive).

I wanted to attend, but I already had to many committments.
My neighbor across the road went, she goes every year. We are meeting for tea later this afternoon so she can tell me all about it. She left Friday morning & got home midday Sunday. She say's it's best to just stay in a motel there so you can get a running start first thing in the A.M. & not leave till they chase you out of the building! haha!
So Kathy & Sherri maybe we should make a "promise" to meet up & go next year. If we start saving our quarters we should have enough money to have fun!

My 15, 18 yr daughters & I went. We had a great time. Inspired & buying patterns. Joanns has Simplicity on sale today.
It is amazing how much stuff we have in our stash & we have some ideas to do. The girls were really inspired by the project runway (simplicity) show.
I'm going to make myself a origami skirt from a pattern from the sewing workshop.
It is fun to get the sewing juices going.
Our son is getting married May 10, Amy dd-18, is a bridesmaid & Emily dd-15 will do the guest book. Of course I need a new dress too. So the machine is just getting warmed up.

If you're like me if it's not on the calendar, it won't happen.

It's always the last weekend in Feb.
Mark those 2009 calendars & maybe we can do a farmgirl dinner afterwards!
