my husband and I did this on the spring river here in Arkansas last fall. They give you a free canoe for the day and transportation back to the launch site in return for you picking up trash along the river. It was a wonderful day out and we were helping to keep the river beautiful too.

That is the coolest thing, Julie! So you basically get a free float trip for cleaning up, which is something we try to do all the time anyway. Fun!

both the spring and the buffalo do it here in AR. Usually it is the Saturday after labor day.
