I'd like to start one of those too. What about buying or making a scrapbook and adding digital pictures from meetings?

Scrapbooks are a great way to start. You could also write down you "minutes" in just a plain notebook and do a fancy one later as well.

You could also decorate a 3 ring binder and then everyone cold decorate their own 8.5x11 page. Then you could use plastic page protectors to contain everything into the journal.

You could sew a cloth journal cover, use glue and ribbons, sparkles, whatever strikes your fancy!

I'm starting a new group too, and was thinking about doing this at the first meeting as well. I think I'm going to bring blank scrapbook pages to the first meeting, and send them home as the first take home project and then have them bring it back at the next meeting. I thought I would put the sample pages that came in the leaders packet into a pretty photo album and pass it around so people can see what other people have done and also as a way to introduce people to the idea of what a Farmgirl chapter is all about. Does anyone know if they are still being mailed around as "Traveling Journals" anymore? I'm still nervous about the first meeting, but I'm excited too!

I'm going to bring my camera to the first meeting. Is there anything else?

That a great idea Aunt Em! I like the camera idea too Sherry. I have mine charged and ready! I think I'm going to go to the store and find a nice binder and maybe use some of my pretty papers to recover it. Then we all could add journal pages or pics to it each time we meet . I'm sure we'll be brainstorming on the 1st. I can't wait to meet everyone!!
