Chilly and grey here today, temps not supposed to go over the high 30s today. Had a lot of wind early Sunday morning. We've bought some seeds but not started any yet. We also planted some bulbs yesterday that we had forgotten about last fall. We are hoping for the best on them. It was very windy when we were out planting them in our pjs. I think we are getting excited for Spring and the planting season.

We had almost 3 inches of rain last night. There was several tornados in south Georgia, no deaths last I heard. Sad to say, several injured and homes destroyed. We escaped the really bad storms. The sun is out and it is beautiful outside with the temp. around 60.

You can never have enough friends.

It's ridiculously warm here, today. It's in the low 60's and cloudy, maybe will be getting some rain later. It's supposed to get cold again tomorrow.

I would guess it is up near 40 here today...still lots of snow and built up ice on the ground..and more snow expected..sigh...but a nice sunny day anyway..the nicest so far this week..so I have been enjoying that. Oldest daughter and I put new shavings in the hen house and new straw down in Mona's little sleeping barn..and I gave the milk barn a good sweeping. But we did wear jackets.
After the past couple weeks it felt like spring. I am REALLY more tired of winter than usual for this time of year. Usually we can see the yard again by now!! It is gonna be one muddy mess when all this melts!! I have ice about 6 inches thick..at least..on the path out to the milk barn..ugh.

We're on our 6th sunny day in a row! It's almost 40 degrees today and has been about that all weekend. Water is running down the street, everything is really icy. Spring is almost here. Boy, is my green thumb itching. I've started all of my early stuff and some flowers, too. I want to plant more seeds but I'm out of window room!

Freezing rain and 7 inches of snow yesterday. High winds last night so snow has drifted over roads higher than a car and the temps are 20 below wind chill.
Most schools were closed today and travel not recommended even on the main interstates because there were so many cars going in the ditch. Schools will be going until first week of June because of all the snow days. Rest areas overflowing with semis who are staying off the interstate. Many rural roads impassable because of high snow drifts. It is late afternoon and they said on the 6:00 news you could go only a mile or less in an hour in some places it is still so bad. A warning of black ice in many places.

I am so jealous of everyone except Marlene! Probably because I live 45 miles away from her and had the same bad storm! My husband made it 5 miles to a gas station from our house and back, but barely. He was in his Jeep, which has 35 inch tires and a huge lift in it, plus 4 wheel drive, and even he got stuck by our neighbors. Luckily, they rent equipment, so they pulled him out. He said the drift down the road around our sharp corner is easily 5 feet- he only got through because a tractor had been through and he drove in the tracks. This has been the most miserable winter I can remember. Mom said it's the worst she remembers since 1979-1980.

I live about fifteen miles from Heather so we have about the same weather! We live in town though so don't have many drifts but I haven't been on the road today to see what it is like. This winter so far we have gotten about 60 inches of snow, plenty of ice, winds of up to 50mph, and windchills of 45 below zero. It has been so nasty and I am tired of it. We just got 6" yesterday and with the high winds we have a windchill of about 20 below zero and lots of drifting. My parents live in the country and they can't get out as their road hasn't been plowed and there are several drifts of about five feet tall in their driveway.
We are expecting more cold weather this week and maybe even more snow. We are supposed to warm up into the 20's this weekend so that will be nice as I head over to my Grandma's house for her 80th birthday (she lives in the same town as you, Heather!).

Well, we're on day 7 of sunshine! Still too early to give a good temp. Yesterday afternoon, I dug out the greenhouse so that the top shelf is visible now. I also got the rest of the ice/snow off the roof over the back door so it would stop dripping and building the ice on the path to the woodshed.

I might just shovel the snow off one of my flower beds on the south side of the house tonight after work. It's still light enough to see at 7pm! It depends how hard the snow is as I get down the pile. But the more I get off - the faster it will clear!

It is overcast with high winds and chilly temperatures here today. I am under the weather so I am staying inside.

It's very cold here today, but beautiful blue skies and sunshine abound! Love it. The gloomy days get to me after awhile.

Hey Girls!
I'm back from the tundra known as Chicago!
It was crazy weather while I was there. Cold, around 15 most days but Sunday it was almost 50 and rained like a mother! Then yesterday Danny and I got up and decided to walk to a local restaurant for breakfast. We didn't look at what the temp was just assumed based on the day prior. Had to laugh my frozen buns off...it was -1 and we didn't bother with thermals! You've never seen 2 people walk so fast in your life!
Here in L.A. we're in the mid-60's and overcast with a few sprinkles. A very nice day.

And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk to blossom

Our weather can't make up it's mind. Last week it was sunny and in the mid-70's. One day got up to 80. When I got back from DD's show on Sunday it was overcast, gloomy and chilly. Today's weather report is calling for cool temps and maybe rain on Thurs and Fri.

We sure do need the rain, but I'm ANTSY to get in the yard.
