Okay, want a laugh and then a more serious. Here is what had me laughing this morning when taking a shower. I have gone with my dd to her last 3 oby/gyn appointments. Right before it is time to go, I go hop in the shower. What is this a reflex reaction from all the years of getting those paps. I stood in the shower and laughed at myself royal. Yep, reflex reaction.
Now for the more serious, I was thinking about honoring. I was thinking about my mother and Clare. That when I go in and do my yearly exam, I am honoring what my mother went through with breast cancer, that when I get my pap I am honoring Clare and her honest words about taking care of ourselves so we don't have to go through what she has. I realize there are no guarantees, but taking care of me is doing those yearly exams. It doesn't have to be dull and boring, you can make a date with a friend, or your daughter. Make your exams the same day and the same time. You can wear goofy socks, an outrageous pair or PJ bottoms, then make a day of it with friend or relative. Go have lunch or window shop or something that lifts your spirits. Taking care of us is important and no one can do that but you. So treat yourself and honor those woman in your life. And get that "lovely" exam!!!!! listening to the quiet moments Farmgirl #39 www.Quitemoments.blogspot.com |

What a great idea to make something most of us look forward to like a root canal into something to look forward to! Leave it to you to put fun into something blah! And so glad you are squeaky clean, ha! Hugs, Nance |

Girls, I highly recommend getting yearly checkups. I couldn't express how important it is. One of my friends recently passed away this week from cervical cancer that spread. They caught it during an exam. Things were going well with treatments but then it took a turn for the worst and spread. Another friend and I went on the same day for ours and she went ahead and had her mammogram that day. They found a lump and did another mammogram the following week. It was there still and did a biopsy to find out it was cancerous. She had surgery and it came out. She did the test to see if she would have to have chemo and thankfully she didn't, so she went through 8 weeks of radiation, 5 days a week. Thankfully next Wednesday is her LAST day of radiation. We are having a celebration for the long road that started last October.
Definitely, go with a team of friends. Afterwards, go out for something fun like a pedicure or out to eat or a mini shopping trip. It makes you have something to look forward to after going through all that stuff.
