Wow, beautiful! I'm trying to create a little room for myself. So I HAVE to ask where do you store your sewing stuff? I'm over run with stuff: machine, fabric, notions, and then the scrapbooking and knitting stuff. How do you make your room look so tidy?

Ohh what a perfect place to spend your days!! I was wondering about your supplies too - does your room always look this neat?

Frannie,
That was great fun, loved seeing everything. Now I know where you got the true friend saying. Now if that doll in the picture still hasn't found a home you can just send her to me, can't stand a homeless child.

I love how the floor and walls were painted white. It really makes your treasures stand out and the room inviting. What a great nest!

Your nest is indeed very cozy. I could 'hole' up there very comfortably and just look around in awe. You have a really Neat home, Frannie. Maybe, someday, I'll come visit....lol! Your father was quite a 'looker' back in the day. Don't worry about buying a new comfortable chair...it all fits in! :) P.S. I wish I could play the banjo like your blog's background music!

alicia darlin' ... when i'm actually SEWING in there .. it looks like WORLD WAR THREE!!! i have 'baskets' hanging from the rafters that have a lot of the things i use 'often' (rafters are in the room NEXT to my 'nest'. i also have tons of FABRICS in the upstairs room of the lower cabin .. where the computer is .. and it ALWAYS looks like World War Three! I also have TONS of sewie stuff piled up in the 'schoolhouse' .. it may take me forever to root through all that and sort it out. I do try to 'neaten' this room each evening .. cuz' it is visible .. RIGHT THERE to peek into when you come through the front door. I think i am going to have my friend kathy from SUGARBUCKET ANTIQUES .. build me a wonderful little door to this room!

shannnon .. white shows every speck of dirt and dust .. it does brighten the room .. which is good for sewing .. but i'm actually pondering making it more primitive and cozy .. not sure what color though. i'll put that one on the back-burner for awhile.

Another question. I live in a log house. At first I thought you had sheetrock on your walls, but you painted the wood...an I seeing that right?

If so, what paint did you use? How many coats did you have to do with a light color?
