I am heling dh put together a large proposal- if all goes well we will be out of this financial hole we have been in. Other than that I have been handsewing together a patchwork quilt. halfway done with the quilt top strips, then I get to sew the strips together. I am enjoying a relaxing day.

Blessings, Debra

Well, I got up and cleaned my kitchen, went to church, went to my mother's and now I am back totally exhausted. I think for the rest of the afternoon, I will work on some kind of a crafty thing or another.

I played all day with my 4 year old son. We did a few of his workbooks, then built houses with his Lincoln Logs and read books. He just fell asleep in his dads lap. Since it is -22 with the wind chill here, going out wasn't an option. It was a nice relaxing day and will be this evening too, since leftovers are for dinner! I will continue planning & dreaming about my new vegetable garden that I'll be putting in the spring.

I went to church with my family - we split our time between two churches, since we have gone to one for over 30 years, but my daughter's hubby is a pastor at another. Today we went to our daughter's and SIL's. Then we took the two grandchildren home for lunch and play time, and delivered them back home at around 1:30 pm for naps. Then I washed my car, worked in my garden, and did laundry. Even though I feel Sunday is a day for rest, the things I did today bring me peace and rest. What better thing is there than family, church, and the beautiful outdoors? Many blessings, of which I am so thankful. Thank you, God, for a blessed Sunday. And thank you to all on this site, for blessed friendships.

I just got back from the airport and seeing Hubby off to his adventure in Afghanistan. It's really hard to say goodbye and to come home to the empty farm. Just me and the critters. I'm sure looking forward to Spring cause the weather here is cold, freezing fog. Sorta matches my mood and pity party!!! Thanks for listening, Lu

Went to church this morning and now I have been working on a primitive china cabinet I am doing up to donate to the Jr. Livestock Auction. It is done in aged mustard and barn red and I am loving it . . . it will be nice to have it out of my kitchen (AKA workshop) but I wish I could keep it.

Tonight I am going to a retirement home for a service I was "roped" into attending. Selfishly I don't want to go, but I know God blesses us for going beyond our own comfort and doing things we'd rather not be doing . . . at least that is what I keep telling myself. My girlfriend didn't want to go either, but I told her "I'll go if you go, so now I really better show up. Sad thing is most of them have alzheimers and won't even remember we were there. LOL! Oh well. If I am home soon enough, I am dying to make gingerbread valentines. I love gingerbread cookies and have been craving these . . . smothered in cream cheese frosting of course! LOL!

Luanne, sending you warm hugs and thoughts during this time while your hubby is away.

Spent time with my girls this morning. Then helped my oldest pack the car for her return trip to college. My little one & I have worked on her book report and created some valentines. This afternoon we visited with my MIL who is in rehab recovering from a hip fracture. Tonights plans include yummy soup for dinner, knitting and working on my homework. Should be doing that homework now instead of being on the computer, but I just love chatting with all of you girls.

lu .. i e-mailed you some 'fun' plans to help make time seem to pass quickly while you are gone. i love the idea of the farmgirls making 'prayer flags' for you ... if you wish. your love will be home in your arms and you will forget all the pain (kinda' like childbirth gurlfren!)

i welcomed dh home and had a birthday celebration for his brother. they had to drive across texas for a funeral.
we had a pretty slow day as they were both exhausted.
couldnt really do any real heavy duty crafting, so i worked on my little baskets, and acorn necklaces for my bunnies.

overall it was a nice quiet day even though the guys had traveled almost 1,000 miles between thursday and saturday.

love

Well, I got back from DD's first sheep show of the season late this afternoon. Boy am I tired. After I saw how great the weather was at home I half way wished we were home all weekend so I could get some yardwork done. But, even though it was cold and foggy DD had a great show - winning one class, 4th & 5th in another and 7th in showmanship. This is one of the most competitive of the season and she was thrilled. We also picked up another lamb for our county fair.
