Hubby leaves for Afghanistan on Sunday and will be gone 6 months. :o(
Can't imagine this, as we've never been apart that long in 28 years. Wish me luck, and keep him in your thoughts and prayers please. Hug. Lu

I belong to an Extension Homemakers Club and we always do a Pinto Bean meal in Feb. (it is this Sat.) Kinda like our Valentine gathering. I know the menu seems strange but it is wonderful. Pinto Beans, Cornbread, Fried Potatoes, Homecanned Greens, Sauerkraut & Weiners, Mac and Cheese, Onions, Homecanned Relish and Deserts galore. Tomorrow I have got to go buy paper products and decorations(happens when you take the job of secretary/treasurer for a club :()not sure when I am going to find time to do such things. Got a very busy week ahead of me next week...also a stressful one. But, going to Frannie's on Friday for some much needed R&R. Fun girlfriend weekend! Cant wait!!

hubby just bought me a tiller..so..guess what I'm gonna be doing? LOL woohoo..gardening here I come! Picked up my copy of Grier's almanac at the feed store yesterday and gonna get started adding on to my cottage garden area...all you gals had sent me so many flower seeds during the summer and fall last year that it's time to get those little babies in the ground..I'll be tilling up about 1/4 of my backyard and sowing flower seeds in part of it as soon as I amend the soil after tilling and so forth.
Then I'll be tilling area for 3 4x4 raised beds which will be for veggies.
Then I am putting in about an 8 ft. by 3 ft area tilled up against the fence for growing my Miss Frannies Kentucky sunflowers and some melons and such.
Anyhow..that's what I have planned for my weekend...woohoo!

Sounds like a lot of fun, Frannie. There's nothing better that I like to do than make dollies for friends! Please share pictures after your gathering ... pleeeeeaaase.

Joy, your post has made me hungry as can be. Pinto beans, cornbread & fried potatoes are a family favorite around here. Now I'll just have to put a pot on in the morning!

Luzy ~ I'm saying a little prayer for you and your dear husband. Thank you both so much for everything you are doing to protect our nation. We appreciate you both!

Everyone seems to just be doing the most wonderful things. I am nursing a sick child so I'll be staying home and finishing up a lot of little projects that need doing. It always feel so good to get things done and have a neat organized little space to exist!

Best wishes for a wonderful weekend to all!

Charlie is getting a haircut- it is a Dad and son thing and he is always so good and so cute when he comes home!!!

I am working on a 2 major papers for school. I want to get them done ASAP.

Going to the beach and playing in the sand. I want to get some good photos of the family while I am there.

Trying out a new roasted chicken recipe.

Hmm, let's see. A busy weekend ahead of me.
Tomorrow I'm getting my haircut, running errands and going to a birthday party.
Sunday a friend and I are going to the consious life expo and sitting in the audience of Lisa Williams the clairvoyent to see her do her amazing and often emotional readings and after that I'm cooking part of a dinner and dessert for a dinner party at a friends house. Whew!
What would I like to be doing? I'd enjoy having several quiet hours to myself to start my felting project. Perhaps I can play with that on Monday!

And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk to blossom
