That's nice to know, especially since I sent my subscription $$$ the month before they cancelled it. Still haven't received my funds back--I wonder if they'll just "comp" my new subscription

I was hesitant about Victoria when it came back, simply because I'm kindof "over" the style now (I quite literallywas a Victorian at boarding school, down to the antique high button shoes and Laura Ashley dresses and hats....I think I might have looked like a dead doll, what with the china white face (a la goth girl) to boot :)...and I had every issue and then I just went simplified in almost everything....but I picked the January issue up and it was still a lovely magazine with great articles and beautiful photography, so I'll probably just buy it here and there.

Bumping this topic.
How do you feel about reading a magazine online? Not my preference, especially now that our computer has crashed.

MMM...I only have spare mintues here and there to sit at the computer and read so I'm not pleased with this! I had sent in my subscription to this magazine before they stopped and got a nice letter with my money a week later. I would like a nice magazine that I can read on the couch while the kids are napping or watching Noggin.

Ok, just throwing my two cents in since I'm one of those folks who *ahem* has an online magazine
Ok, while I can't speak for Organic Style and what the back story might be it's EXTREMELY expensive to do professional printing. I've done research from the onset and it might be even MORE expensive to set up print than 5 years ago.
Further, there is MUCH more competition out there amongst magazine. Even walking into a Borders or Barnes and Noble, any number of magazines of one particular subject crowd the magazine aisle....so, while I can understand it might be a hassle to read online, I think it's basically that you'd have to get a huge fanbase together for the massive subscriptions that would warrant going to press (the more pages printed, the less money it costs, bulk-wise)... Just my two cents, as I said.

i had subscribed to organic style and when it stopped, i think they changed my subscription to "body and soul". i happen to like it, but i believe it is under one of the martha stewart publications. or was there at one time an "organic LIVING" that i'm thinking of? when it comes to reading on line.....i prefer the old-fashioned way of actually holding the magazine in my hands. i usually read either out by the pool (hope warm weather comes soon!) or in the car since i'm always (and i mean always!) picking the kids up! |

I think that online magazines are great! Very trendy and GREEN to boot! I wish more would offer online versions. I'd also like to see more be downloadable to things luke the iPod. I have an ipod touch which I use for most of my Internet access. There are a few things that use flash player that I can't view but I love having this tiny little computer to access the web.
