Thanks Alee - that was nice of you. It'd be nice to do a show on the east side of the mountains - especially if my little model's already been out selling for me!!

I learned visualization over 30 years ago when people thought it was some kind of voo-doo. My teacher ws Jerry Jampolsky, who runs to this day, a center for Attitudinal Healing for what we then called terminally ill children in Tiburon, Ca. He had begun using it with the children and had seen remarkable success. He's a very wise man and taught me a lot. His books are great instruction tools. My favorite is the first one he published way back then called "Love is Letting Go of Fear", which discussed the faith (love) versus fear concept that I've been teaching forever.

Another great reference is the Science of Mind material. I was married in a Religious Science church and it has been a large part of my journey. They publish a monthly magazine which is great because it has not only inspirational stories but daily affirmations. The Science of Mind is all about visualization and faith vs. fear.

Another great book to read is "Illusions: the story of a reluctant Messiah" by Richard Bach, about a modern Messiah who really doesn't want the job. He just wants to fly bi-planes. Another book about changing your atitude to manifest what you want/need.

I don't want to take up any more space but I highly recommend the above for anyone who wants to learn more about the Law of Attraction. It does work. God has given us so many wonderful ways to enrich our lives. This is one of them.

We got onto a conversation about this at work. One of the most successful women I know (I mean know personally, as in talk to on a daily basis) is my friend Gywn. She works in the CIO's office as his assistant manager and all aroud guru. Her accolades and accomplishments could fill a few walls. She is sweet, wonderful, personable, smart- I could go on. She, like Patricia, joined in the transcendental meditation movement back in the 70's when she was a freshman out of college. She was broke but not down and out (due to a tough life). She got married and she had 2 kids and was a SAHM. They lived in a little 2 bedroom apartment and could barely afford to pay for food, rent and bills. She wanted more and something better (for herself, her family, etc) and said for 3 months, she meditated daily, focusing on the life she wanted and she used her drawing skills to "picture" her life in a notebook. 8 months later, she got hired by someone she met while at a friend bbq and it was someone looking for a fresh face and mind for her medical consulting business. Now, Gywn was a small town gal, never had been to any kind of businees function or around anyone who worked in the "business" world. She happened to go to this bbq because her sister invited her to go.

She admitted too that 12 years ago, she was laid off from her job due to financial troubles at the healthcare facility she worked at. She went home the day she found out she was losing her job and "imagined" or "dreamed" her perfect job- she pictured getting a promotion, having her own office, working in a large healthcare facility, be a go to with the public, etc, etc, etc...and 5 weeks later, she was working in that job. She became the public relations officer (in reference to healthcare matters) and gave her first public speech 2 weeks after getting hired.

I know at times it seems so unbelievable, but I do believe in "it", whatever it is. I have had too many things happen to me not to believe. I think believing in it and trusting God have given me more success than I know what to do with. What goes around comes around....

Cheers,
Heather

Heather, what a great, inspiring story! "It" is merely using one of the laws of the Universe that God has given us to better our lives. It's really simple, actually.

By the way, I was never into TM, which is a special kind of meditation (Did you know the Maharishi died this week? Whew, do I feel old!). I just do simple meditation.

Yeah, I tried TM and it was a little too deep for me, but just sitting in the sun, eyes closed and being intense in thought is good enough for me... : )

I think any good, positive thought is good for thy own soul and the world's soul...

Cheers,
Heather

not to long ago we were going into town to drop off some stuff at goodwill. I didn't have much money but I needed a cardigan (hubby keeps the heater on low) and skirt (never find on in my size and that goes for sweaters too) and I just wanted to find something special. so the whole 35 minute drive I imagined that I was going to find these things.. I found a pink sweater- cotton covered in cables (as a knitter I love cables!) in my size.. I found a skirt I just love- purple a variety of fabrics in stripes- all different shades of purple a majorly twirly skirt.. and the something special a handmade free standing quilt rack about 5 ft tall with 4 rungs for $5! It is a little wobbly from stripped screws but that is a easy repair.. I was beaming the whole rest of our errands that day..

you know that we had such a horrible year last year that I realized that we spent the whole time focusing on the negative.. I don't want a repeat of next year so I need to focus on the positive. I loved that quote that Frannie shared "Your mind believes what you tell it." I have been pondering that for the last few days.

Frannie is right. There are three levels of mind - conscious, subconscious and superconscious. The subconscious receives all the info and stores it. It does not reason. It merely accepts. The Universe is that way, too. It does not reason. It just acts on what we are putting out.

Jesus tried to get that across so many times when he'd say things like "your faith has healed you" He was trying to get us to understand that we have the God-given ability to control our reality.

What an exciting concept! We manifest what we believe! Just like when a woman says, "I always choose the wrong man" or "I'll never lose weight" She never does because she's reinforcing what she believes and putting that into the Universe. It just gives us back what we send it.

I think it's so exciting that you realize that you need to snap out of your negativity and more importantly, that you're doing something about it! How wonderful is that! Only good things down the road for you, Bucko!

thank you Patricia.. We are expecting checks that we need. I told myself yesterday I have to stop getting upset that they haven't come yet- I just need to believe that they will be there when we need them to be.

Good, Debra. See them coming in the mail and see them in your hands and you banking them and give thanks for your unlimited abundance. More will come - visualize it in your hands, etc.

Oh, and another good way to manifest abundance is to pick up those pennies that everyone says are worthless. They are not. Pick them up and give thanks for your unlimited abundance. You are telling the Universe that you appreciate everything it sends your way and more will come.

Woo hoo!

So... I went to get the mail.. I kept saying to myself.. Money comes easily and often.. I mean- I am not asking for money out of the blue, this is money owed to us. Simple enough. I get to the mail box and I keep saying it to myself. Only 1 letter in the box.. yep! a check. to pay the car payment, to get jeff's prescription filled on Tuesday, to have gas money, to pay part of the office rent. I am very excited and thankful! Just had to share!

oh how i adore being surrounded with such loving, kind, spiritual (not to be confused with religious) gurlfrenz.

p.s. religious is jus' fine too .. but i believe spiritual (for me) goes beyond one's relgion .. or maybe it is the simple act of ACTING our choice of religion (in love).
