I couldnt decide between sewing or jewlery this moring so i compromised .I am still trying to "destash" some . I can use up alot of the prettier buttons i have saved. The ones with holes and not a shank work better for the rings. You just sew them to a narrow strip black elastic to fit your finger.
I just have to "make stuff" or i dont feel complete. Is funny --everyting in my house is all straight and no clutter EXCEPT the craft room. It looks like --well --lets say i would never take a pic of it :P I need a floor to ceiling bookcase to organize me
I am hooked on the button rings this weekend. I was gonna crochet and sew but i am having too mauch fun with these. I love buttons. I remember playing with my grannys button tin and thinking it was the most amazing toy in the world. To this day i still keep my buttons in a tin . This one i glued gold ring to button and added an earring that didnt have a match anymore. This one turned out really simple. Just sewed on the sewing machine charm to the button Here are this weeks necklaces to be created. These are small pics i glued to things for necklaces. The one on left is on a domino --will wire wrap it --3 middle ones are on a bamboo tile that already has holes in it --then one on right is on small block wood that i will wire wrap.
COOL! I love the button rings! My 7 year old insists on using my buttons for his math homework...even when he knows the simple answers he still wants to touch and count the buttons. I had been wanting to make a necklace of buttons and see there is one on the front of MaryJane's stitching book...but not the directions inside. It looks like it is crochet or macrame. Buttons are fun! Now you have me inspired...maybe I'll play at crochet and buttons.

Will be fun to see what you make with them . Button jewlery is really becoming populr now. You can put a jumpring thru the holes and string them that way on yarn to crochet if they dont have a shank or add to a jewelry chain also .

These are fun and quick to make this morning :) I will have a fun collection of rings here shortly for just pennies each.

I am having way too much fun with this.Must be the 2 mugs of chai tea i have drank already.
Had to do a wrist cuff . I had thise older rhinestone parrot pin that was broken. Turned out cute on the cuff.
