I found this portrait at the thrift. It is 11 x 14 and is a little tattered and torn but sturdy and beautiful. I found a frame and will hang in on my wall. I posted it and some other stuff on my Strawberry Hills blog. MB

MB,
That is a pretty neat picture. I should get out some of my really old ones from that time period and frame them. Don't you wish they would have written the names and place on the back? What they had for dinner, etc? You know, a little info. We as women need to know these things.

Very nice photo, Marybeth. And how sweet of you to 'adopt' them and save them from oblivion. Speaking of sweet, you have one of my favorite candies pictured on your blog - those little valentine candy hearts! YUM! Now I have to go to Walgreens on the way home tonight and buy a bag! :) Those and Necco wafers.

Beautiful old family photo, Mary Beth!!! I bet you could age that frame and even make it really brown looking by rubbing shoe polish on it. Great job thrifting! Hugs, Nance

That's cool, Mary Beth. I just acquired a number of old family portraits (my family and my husband's) that I'm planning to hang. Unfortunately, I don't know who many of the people are. Always write something on the back! I guess that's the moral of the story.

Shoe polish, Good Idea Nance. I will try that.

Janice, I love Necco Wafers too. Haven't seen them for awhile. I used to curl up with a book and my Necco Wafers. MB
