Frannie my husbands family raise Olde English Sheep Dogs as a kid and we had three when we first married. The last one passed on the first day of school two years ago. We had out male English mastff already but added a female after Lady passed. Hagrid and lily had a litter of 9 mastiff pups on feb 21, 2006. We kept 1 (thunder) he will be 2 in 2 weeks! We also have a golden retreiver. You can see picks of lots of our animals on my blog!

Julie, I remember your Mastiffs from when you posted pics of them sleeping together! Wow, Mastiffs. You ARE going for sainthood! They're huge! But yours were so cute :D I love animals too. I just have no room in my city house to put them. I have doves, at the moment. They are funny clowns and they coo. So, I guess at the time, I could say NEITHER cats or DOGS, but I like them both!

We have Sebastian and MacKenzie who are pembroke corgi's and a Rat Terrier named Grady and 5 cats. We love them all. Some more than others ROFL Since we became the adopteees for the Rat terrier from our sweet daughter, our corgs seem to be peeing in the house sometimes, anyway one of them.I read they will do that if another dog is brought into thier territory. Bummmer Im getting a little tired of that. Gota book and am reading up on dog manners good thing we have Pergo floors other wise these are our favs at the moment, My vary favs are Afghan hounds of which we have owned 2 before, but they have a little less brains than some dogs, but I think I like them the most. I am for sure more of a dog person, but we have three dogs (2 girl bassets, Stella and Maggie, and one mini weiner dog named Frank) and 3 cats too..(12 year old Pumkin, 3 year old Alice and 1 1/2 year old Fiona) My husband LOVES cats...and since I never met an animal I didn't like, I am pretty sure we will always hav both.

dogs, deffinately dogs. right now, i don't have any animals (boo-hoo), but this is Samson. i say he is my angel, God sent him to live at my house under some strange circumstances, he attached himself to me, and protected the children and i countless times.

I am a dog person. We have Girlie Girl, our 11 year old pit bull; Cody, our 3 year old border collie; and Treu, my daughters blue healer/border collie/bassett hound mix who is only 6 months old. I used to love cats and have had several over the years but since moving here to Idaho City, I've become prejudiced. Cats are sooooo out of control here and spray everything everywhere:(

I love all sorts of animals/fowls. We have a 3 dogs... a golden retriever and two chow mix, one guinea fowl, 3 peafowl, and our latest addition...one calico cat.
I think overall I'm more a dog person.

Both! We have 12 dogs and about 20 cats. Not to mention my horses, goats, chickens, and ducks. I like all of them for many reasons, but dogs are like my children. (And they listen just about as well!) My husband hates cats, so they are outside, but they like to go in and poop in the garage, because apparently they don't like my husband either :) |

Heather, that's so funny. Do your cats ever go after your chickens or ducks? Our dogs are like our children also. It's funny now that I think about it. We actually got 1 dog after each kid moved out (we have 3 grown boys). We may have been subconsciously replacing our kids as they left!

I'm a cat person, they don't maul you when you come in the door! Seems like everyone we know with dogs has a hard time controlling them. Maybe that's just something you have to get used to, but the jumping up on me (and kids and elderly people) is annoying.

My cats don't mess with the chickens and ducks. They follow me in to help me feed them, because they know that I always give them the bantam eggs and the really dirty ones. My dogs don't really jump on people, most of them don't like strangers, except the Shih Tzus, but they listen pretty well. |

I'm a Corgi lover...they aren't really dogs though.
The first photo is my Maggie who has gone over the rainbow bridge. The second Photo is our Walter, soon after we rescued him last summer.

My first pet was a cat and there will always be a cat in my life, but you just can't beat that uconditional love to greet you after a bad day at work
We need a second dog to keep the one comapny, but for now it's just the one dog and 2 cats
If our home was a bit bigger, Id ge a second in a heartbeat. My dog is our child and stays in the house with us |

I love both dogs and cats. I have cats at my home. I have a indoor cat/person (she doesn’t know she’s a cat) I have 3 outside cats and a few strays that want to call here home. The only thing I dislike about cats is their bird catching instincts. We keep all feeders out of reach; however they still get a bird sometimes. It just makes me sick when that happens, because I love the birds also. My mom has a dog named Honey, she just showed up about 2 years ago. She is a golden retriever mix, she is very sweet. We live in a very small town and my parents live next door to a bar/restaurant Honey, has made friends with the cook, owner and regulars at the bar. She had a favorite spot that she would lay behind the bar (she could see mom’s and the back door of the bar from her spot) Well this winter the bar put a really nice dog house out there for her. They talked to mom and made sure she didn’t mind. Honey is one very spoiled dog.

I definately like both dogs and cats but at the vet hospital I work as a technician dogs are much easier to handle than cats. I will take a growling, snapping, biting, 100lbs dog over a fracious cat anyday. Restraining a dog to give him a sedative is much easier on a dog than a cat I think. Cats can and will twist their body around and you have to be quick. Most owners think you are hurting their cats too when you have to scruf them, so I would much rather hold a dog for shots than a cat. I have a dog and 2 cats in the house and the most loveable are my cats. The dog just sleeps all day and he stopped greeting us at the door years ago.

We have four dogs and three cats...and after our cats pass, our compromise as husband and wife is to not get anymore cats. Well, that's what HE says...he has difficulty with the litter box, and Oh, yes, they pooped in his shoes when he first moved in after we were married...so he's still a little stung. He cares for them, but I think would be classified as a dog person. I'd have a menagerie--birds, cats, dogs, you name it
