ok....so the last few days haven't been that great. Everyone is getting on my nerves, my ears seem to be WAY sensitive to loud noises (kids) and such. I am thinking that I will be starting any moment now...so what do i do? I am getting tired of playing this game.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do to tame those "bad boys"? (is it ok to blame men?) anyway. besides run and hide away from everyone!!!
I am usually taking 2 fish oils a day + reg. vitamen. Is there anything else that could be suggested in addition?
I read through past posts and couldn't really find anything specific.

I really am looking for something to do when i feel it starting to come on. Maybe I need to take something consistantly? thanks for the help before hand. Becky

My doctor recommends taking B vitamin Complex (all the major B vitamins in one) to help with PMS/PMT and it really does seem to help. Also taking lots of warm baths seems to help me- but I am a water nut so that might be why! :D

Black Cohosh does wonders for PMS. There have been a lot of studies showing that it is effective in taming those "bad boys". I've been taking it for a year now & it has really helped. I take one pill every morning with my Omega 3 & vitamins. Once in awhile I need a second pill in the evening if I feel a lot of anger trying to get out. Good luck on finding what works for you.

Just be careful with Black Cohosh. It contributed to a pretty serious heart condition for my mom which was life threatening.

I take B complex too. I don't get cramping or bloating nearly as much as that sensitivity to sounds and stuff that you mention.

B complex, water, water, water, I add lavendar to a washcloth and inhale it while wearing my sleeping mask, which I must say has cut down on my tossing and turning at night ( I am light sensitive when I sleep), walking, walking , walking.....

Right now I am trying to change my eating habits over to something that works for women who are aging, bad PMS, peri-menopausal who do not want to go the drug route. Whole food seem to be working. I am at about 65% with eating them right now and this difference is starting to work. I have dropped 12lbs just by quitting soda, caffeine and turning to non-caffeinated teas and lots of water.

I get some pretty bad anger moods- like I have to excuse myself from the house and go out walking for awhile or else I could just explode and hit something. Trust me- this is not my normal behavior.

I read somewhere that when a woman hits her 30's, she needs to start to replenish herself in preparation for the next phase in her life. Mental attitude and overall health should be top priorities. It is time to throw out the childish actions of over eating junk food (addiction is hard, believe me I KNOW~~~) partying too much, drinking too much, just too much of anything, and set one self up for health down the road. Makes the aging process easier too.

Ok---enough rambling...

one other thing, that not everyone has at their disposal, but is VERY useful is......placenta. If you have access to dry and powdered placenta, that is a treasure trove for dealing with PMS as well as menapause, not to mention it's benefits immediately after childbirth!

I know it sounds gross and a little barbaric, but the hormone content in that miracle food is outstanding!

I take a PMS supplement from the health food store that contains Chaste Tree. Even my family doctor endorses Chaste Tree, and she also said to up my calcium.

This works great, and I get no cramping during my period. It just gently comes and goes...

I saw in Discovery Health chanel a study they did in Great Britain about pms symtoms and perhaps ways to alleviate the problem. 60 women were given calcium supplements with vitamin D as well as being told to increase the amount of dairy they would normally eat to twice to three times the amount 7 days prior to when they thought they would start. 60 women were given placebos and not told to increase dairy. The study showed a decrease in the symptoms when the ladies increased dairy and took the supplements. I tried it and I guess it helped. My husband didn't go hide during the week and even commented that I seemed happier this month compared to months in the past. So I just take the supplement every day that has vitamin D already in it and I eat alot more dairy 7-10 days prior to when I start. I usually go through 3 yogurts a day and lots of milk and cheese.
