Saw these directions in the paper today. The glue part sounded weird, but here goes...

martha stewart had something like this on her show a number of years back...the show prior to prison. The only thing is she didn't do it with felted sweaters, she just did it with old sweaters. Specifically the sleeves so that you would have an already finished wrist and you just had to cut around for the mitten part and sew it up either with a machine or by hand.
did that make sense?

Yes, it frightens me too...it's just a shame to put glue where a nice threaded stitch should be.

i have an orange wool sweater in my closet that i never wear. i got it for 50 cents at my favorite thrift shop but it's just too close to the color of my hair--i feel like a pumpkin in it. i should make a pair of these. it would be an easy, theraputic saturday project. btw...i am a fabric glue disaster. if i put glue where thread should be, i am guaranteed to ruin an otherwise perfect project.

What a great idea! I have a sweater I bought at a yarn sale just for the buttons. I was going to donate the sweater minus buttons, but now I'll use the sleeves for mittens and maybe try to make a felted bag out of the body.
