i had all the rafters filled with my wonderful BASKETS .. but hank had to 'duck' when walking under them .. and i just moved the sofa and chair back into the 'upper cabin' (living room) .. had a table and chairs in there before .. it 'looked good' .. but we rarely ever sat there (unless we were having a party .. THEN it came in handy!) .. but with the new gas fireplace insert .. it is sooooo cozy in there .. that i wanted to put 'seating' back in there .. soooooo .. i decided to take the baskets off the rafters on HALF the room (above the furniture! it looks BARE there to me .. and what oh what am i to do with all these baskets? i suppose i will choose my 'least' and put them in the shoppe for adoption! but they did hold all my 'sewies' .. i'm in the process now of going through them and 'organizing' my sewie stuff .. and trying to decide what cupboards/tables/ etc. to put back into my little 'nook' (sewing/tv/reading room). might leave it bare until after the girls come for our gathering .. i'm gonna' need room to put down some 'cots'! (they may have to sleep on top of baskets!)

living in a much smaller home is wonderful in so many ways .. but STORAGE is a challenge .. i guess i'll just learn to 'whittle down' to my real 'needfuls'!

where do you girls 'store' the things you want handy .. but don't want seen? xo

i don't like finding BOXES for anything that's fragile as an egg .. heavier than an elephant .. or shaped like a camel .. those HANDLES make box-finding such a job! come and git 'em!! of course, i'm not sellin' my 'best' ones! i don't have too many reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeely old ones .. jus' won't pay the ridiculously high prices (in my opinion!) for them!
i do find good olde baskets from time to time for twenty or thirty dollars .. THEN .. i buy them! i do have a buncha' longabergers that i will sell cheaply at the shoppe .. any local collectors are gonna' love me!

they have all been GREAT for storage .. although, i have to admit .. i never seemed to know WHAT was in WHICH one .. and i'd end up taking 30 or 40 baskets down looking for ONE item! i'm mostly just going to keep them fairly empty to use when i need to take something along with me.

I will have to tell Ange to drop by the shop often! Just hope she takes time to enjoy life a little, you know ck out some of the neat places there, like: Cobblestone Farms, Glover's Station and the Plaid Peacock.
Even though she lived on an Island for 3 years, then off to IN to do her clinical yr, the last 4 yrs I am sure has not been easy. Not counting the 6 yrs of college before Vet School.

unless you want a couple hundred dollars from it .. i say use it for whatever makes you happy! i leave 'antiques' out in the garden and on the porch even though i know that nature will 'claim' them .. because it makes me smile to open the door .. or drive up .. and see them sitting there! i had a wonderful olde doll house that sat on my porch for a few years before it turned into 'firewood' .. it is no longer here (by the way .. i would NEVER do this with something that was irreplaceable) .. but i smile everytime i think of it! soo .. go ahead and use your longaberger laundry basket .. it was made for that purpose. (i have one of their 'sewing baskets' that i'm going to sell because it jus' doesn't 'fit in'. not sure what it's worth (i could researach it) .. but if i put a hand-full of dollars price-tag on it .. and get some of my pennies back .. and make someone happy .. that's coooool too!
