What are some things you use for things that wouldn't normally be paired with that object?

When I'm at the cabin, I use an embroidery hoop fashioned from a cottage cheese container. I cut the top rim off the carton, then cut the center out of the lid and snap it together. I made it when I was over there one time without a hoop, and even though I have brought a lot of my sewing supplies over there, I still use my cottage cheese hoop.

I use my tall enamelware pee pot for soup! (No, I've never actually used it for a pee pot but it's really old so who knows what previous owners have done with it)

I hung an old garden rake in my bedroom and use the tines for hanging necklaces - works like a charm!

I always keep a couple of clothespins with my teabags. I use them to hold the strings when I make iced tea.

Woohoo ladies that is what I'm talking about! Love the pee pot for soup...if only the previous owners knew :-p Clothespins I LOVE , the embroidery hoop thing is cool. We use an old basin for holding brushes and hair stuff and the other one holds a fake flower thing and a huge feather duster and we have a dry sink that holds our phone stuff and cards.

Oh! I have pint mason jars in my bathroom for holding q-tips and cotton balls.

And I use a hanging shoe rack to store hair gels, extra hair bands, lotions and other sorts of beauty supplies that were clogging up space in my bathroom.

You can always dress them up by tying cute ribbons around them, Bridget!

Mason jars work well for baking soda in the bathroom also (if you are using it to wash your hair). I keep the measuring spoon stuck down inside the jar and scoop out the right number of spoonfuls into an old tea cup to take in the shower with me.

I have an old hardware store apron in my laundry room holding all my sprays, clothes pins, etc...it's strung up on the wall.

I have a bunch of mason jars holding everything from nails to buttons all over. I use empty yogurt and soup cans to start plants in. I used an old bar of soap as a temp. pin keeper before. . don't get me started on re-fashioning clothing *g*
