Miss Wilma, you put your feet up on one of those piles & take it easy today! You've earned a bit of rest! Sure love seeing pictures of all the fun stuff you find. One day I will get down there in person to see you and your shop! Rhonda

How exciting, Miss Wilma! I know you may not be thinking "exciting" is the right word right now... I ought to be sick of the thought of sorting through a houseful of stuff, after my husband and I cleaned out my MILs house last summer (they were both real pack rats and hadn't thrown anything out in 40 years). But now that it's all over, I'm just itching to tackle another mountain of treasures. One box at a time, right? |

Miss Wilma - I so want a farm table! Oh to be closer to you! When we go north to Illinois from Florida, we go through Kentucky and stay the night in Paducah. Next time I am calling you before we leave!

Well, dang, 15 miles is nothing! I had a feeling it was close to your place. We do go through Nashville. I do not know when we will go again, but I will let you know when we do!
I can tell you, farm tables in north Florida are almost non-existent. I see them a lot in North Carolina. The weather takes it's toll on old wood down here.....mildew, woodrot, bugs..... and they do not survive very well. Even metal rusts like crazy. I am so glad you have your treasure home. They will be a good thing for you.

Miss Wilma, my mom and I went on our little jaunt today to Winchester, and I told her all about you, your shop and your find! She said we should take a weekend and come see you very soon. She loves the idea of just getting up and heading out. We'll have to make sure you're home, though, girl, as much as you go!!!!

No Miss Wilma, my daughter done her undergrad at Western...and I use to come your way all the time. I have just got to get back that way again as soon as it warms up a little. I want it to be warm enough to look as long as I want over at your shop. Cant wait. Saving my pennies for Cabin Fever Weekend right now and then plan on saving for a trip to Miss Wilma's. I only have the one child and Tuesday is her last day of college! she has went 10 long years. She will be Dr. Ange and be making her home in Greensburg KY. She will be in Frannie's neck of the woods. I have told her Miz Frannie will be a great new friend for her.

Joy any time, It does pay to call as I am gone a lot My shop is really a large house, we have heat there I just keep it turned down, so if I know when any one is coming I can turn it up. My little grand daughter says she wants to be a vet the other is going to be a helper of people, what ever that is

Sherry I can sure tell you I have bought a lot of lessons also HA they are the best way to learn because you try not to do it again, But the number one thing always be honest with everyone you do buiness with,#2 An OLD woman will hook you quicker than anyone, When I am buying an estate I always look it over good and offer a good price, I feel like if I give a good price they will reccomend me to some one else,I never try to take advantage of an old person or a person that is poor and needs money, I have truly been blessed all these years of junking, I also listened to the older antiques dealors and learned the things to look for in buying,Now I am one of the older ones, Now I am going to tell you this in going to auctions most times you dont have to worry about what a dealor pays , because you know they are buying for resale so you can give more than they do, Sometimes you will find a dealor that will buy an item no matter what it cost, most times they are an idiot or trying to scare others away from buying, Always buy with the intention of reselling and making money if you do resell,IF I can be of help just let me know

We found some good things in Georgetown at the Peddler's mall but not so much in Winchester. They did have a great little bluegrass "come one come all" in the back of the store that made shopping easier. I enjoyed that!! I got an old bee smoker, and some other great little finds. I started shopping for the Spring swap, too. Great little finds!!!!

We used to go to Turtle Creek when I was younger--then I went away to school in Michigan and I think they stopped going. My daddy was always hunting for tools....
I'll have to tell Jus about the Springfield show--we should take Sterl along as a guide!!!! I just love stuff like that--and I love the folks more, I think! My mom asked me yesterday if she had something on her face because people were looking at us so much. I simply said, "we're not from here...they can smell it "
