Well I'm off to the Expo. It is put on by the WSU Ag program and is at the Stanwood High School. I believe someone else mentioned it earlier I hope I meet a MJ farmgirl there. It is pouring snow here but maybe not down in town. I'll report back if I make it there. MB

Well yesterday I attended the Country Living Expo and Cattleman's Winterschool 2008. Whew, what a title. Keynote Address was by Ray deVries owner of Ralph's Greenhouse. His address was "Hot to get rich farming 3 acres in one easy step". Which of course there are no easy steps, but there are steps and things that one can do and to realize that richness does not always mean money but but happiness. Good speaker. I signed up for 3 classes but ended up only attending two---they are long---Noxious Weeds in the Pasture and a birding class. Very good. I missed Equine Nutrition but have been there before. There were close to 500 people there and filled up the local high school. The Expo was put on by Washington State University Extension Office, Ag Department and Stanwood High FFA. AND Prime Rib for lunch--YUM!!
I saw a friend that I used to work with at Emery's Garden. We had lunch together. It was so nice to see him.
This expo has a commercial area and there were exhibits about cattle, wool goats, sheep, fencing anything connected with farming. Some spinners were there showing their wares. All very interesting. All in all a good experience for me.

That must of been a very interesting fun filled day for you. It seems there was something for everyone. I love going to things like that. So glad you had such a nice time.

Lea, yes I/we have horses. Right now, 4 horses and two minis that grew too tall so now are small ponies. Last fall I had to put down my horse, Ambush, (broken shoulder). There is a past post somewhere about her. Kylee was burning up the arena running barrels on her. MB
