Ok girlies, what are some other FAMILY movies. I would like to compose a list on here. Like we said in my other post family movies are few and far between. I'm thinking but I can't come up with any other ones right now.
Any?

Oh how funny...that is the first one that came to mind!! We loved Nanny McFee and The Anne of Green Gables, Anne of Avonlea movies too. My Dog Skip was one we really liked...but be prepared to cry. I LOVE the movie Babe. Not all my kids do, but they indulge me. I just want to live on THAT farm!! I like to imagine my critters all talking like that.

Jenny Kinda off topic, but it is funny cause we now have a Black Mouth Cur, which is the dog from the original Ole Yeller book..Still I think the Ole Yeller thing is a man thing.. Hubby will flat out refuse to watch Ole Yeller or Brians Song.. |

The Secret Garden, Lord of the Rings, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe series, ummm....All Creatures Great & Small (it's a great series that you can watch in sequence).
Most of the Hallmark Hall of Fame movies are very family oriented--I know this because I cry during each one and my husband refuses to watch that "cheese" ![](icons/icon_smile_wink.gif)
At the risk of being made fun of, my mother showed me the benefit of old movies when I was young, and some of them are HOOTS, like Bringing Up Baby with Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant, and The Bachelor and the Bobby Soxer. I remember really digging on those!!!

Some more that I can think of....Oh yeah. Flicka and Love Comes Softly. Just saw the latter, and it's really good. I made Justin go play music and drink beer and I sat at home and ate popcorn and had a great night!!!
I have heard wonderful things about Water Horse which is just now at the theater. It looks like something I would LOVE.
An Irish Film called The Secret of Roan Inish, a movie about the legend of sulkies (warning--you may need a translator)

Babe is one of our very favorite movies here too, Jenny! In fact, it was on TV the other day and I sat and watched it. By myself. Let's see............ For everyone: Babe Charlotte's Web (the new one) Ratatouille Evan Almighty Chitty-Chitty Bang Bang The Love Bug (the original) Night at the Musuem The Parent Trap (the original) You are not alone, Lisa!! If you can find it- Sammy, the Way-Out Seal. So cute! Any of the original Disney versions of The Computer Who Wore Tennis Shoes, The Shaggy Dog, The Absent-Minded Professor, Pollyanna For older kids: The World's Fastest Indian Ever After Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House The Philadelphia Story (young teen girls will love this) Francis, the Talking Mule movies. When my son, JA, watched these as a little boy, he would lay on the floor laughing hysterically. It wasn't was was being said, because JA is deaf. It's the physical comedy that spoke to him. When we were kids, my brothers and I loved to watch the Ma and Pa Kettle movies on Saturday afternoons. We loved them. Ah. I want to go watch old movies all day now. :0

WOW you guys really did think of good ones! I forgot about Anne of Green Gables...for sure! I grew up on those. Nanny McPhee has a great ending! I love princess bride but I remember it not being "family" friendly. Night at the Museum love it and I have to check out the others that I'm not familiar with. My man is getting to want to cuddle and watch movies more than go to the bar :-p I just got Evan Almighty from Netflix. We use that and pay our local for when we wanna watch others. :-p

The Sound of Music and Annie (with Carol Burnett as Miss Hannigan), the Muppets-Treasure Island, Muppet Christmas Carol, Muppets from Space, and Muppets- Wizard of Oz are some of our favorites. Mulan is probably my favorite Disney movie. Her Highness and I watch anything classic like Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice. We are suckers for "costume" movies.
We watch TV Shows on dvd a lot too. We have: the Waltons- seasons 1 thru 5 Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends The Muppet Show- seasons 1&2 The Electric Company season one I also have Anne of Green Gables, not the series that was on cable, but the original "movies" on PBS with Colleen Dewherst. That is all I can think of now. We rent a lot of movies from our local grocery store. Lots to choose from and its cheap!

"The Pacifier" was on the other night with Vin Diesel. DH and I liked it because it was something that we could watch with our kids (though not the first 5 minutes that had a mildly intense chase scene). I also liked the first Harry Potter movie because it wasn't too frightening for the kids, though they won't see the sequels till they are a bit older. We love Home Alone during the holidays. The Incredibles was good. My favorite is Meet Me in St. Louis.
On a warning note, we also watched Antz the other night, and besides some language that I didn't want my kids to hear, one character talked about his "erotic fantasies." Holy Cow! I was fuming by the time the movie was over. I know that some of these animated movies try to put in adult humor to encourage parents and adults to enjoy them too, but some of them are too much. (and since people consider me super liberal, the fact that I have a problem tells ya something!)

I know what you mean Sarah. Most of these Disney type movies that throw in the double entendres can get their humor across without saying "erotic fantasies" for instance.
I forgot to mention we have Rocky and Bulwinkle on dvd too. Anyone remember that show??? I loved it.
