I read about transforming an old dress into a new apron and thought I would give it a try! I found this pretty buttercup yellow linen dress at our local thrift store. I love the embroidery flowers and cut work along the hem line. I kept the buttons, just sewed along them to keep it from opening in the front, then used the sleeves for pockets. It has a fully lined bodice using the back as the lining. Fun, easy and inexpensive weekend project and now I have a pretty new apron! []

How cute! I would've never thought to do that. I have some cute denim dresses that don't fit me anymore that I could do this with.
Thanks for sharing!

I don't mind at all if you kopykat! I was so excited about trying it. I think it would work great for dresses that don't fit anymore also. I made this apron from a dress six sizes smaller than me.. It's been a long time since I bought a dress that size... LOL

So adorable! I love the color too. I don't wear dresses, but that makes me want to go out and hunt some old ones down!
