This evening, my husband says to me (among other stunning admissions to be revealed at a later date) , "Hey, today, Miliscent called from the library to tell us about a class available...so, me, Janet and Rhonda are taking a beekeeping class in a couple weeks at the public library"... Janet, his co-worker and good friend and Rhonda, his boss, the owner of the restaurant are both kindof "hippy dippy" as they like to call themselves, and they yelled down to him while he was in the cellar to see if he wanted to be included in the three spots open. He's really excited and is now reading the Autumn issue of Hobby Farms which had a great bee-keeping article...He's really excited, girls! I also caught him looking at my pretty Mary Jane's Farm Farmgirl calendar...!!!!

I sometimes think my DH is jealous of the Farmgirls but then I think he wants to join in on other days. He always asks me "Hey whats up with the girls today." I have also found him read MJ's magazines too and he just smiles at me. That silly man smile. He's so cute.

Bee keeping is a really fun hobby....if you don't mind getting stung. If he is not allergic to bee stings....I would tell him...."go for it!!" You can't beat home grown honey....and the bees wax is fun to work with, too!!!

He sounds like such a keeper.....in touch with his inner farmgirl!!!LOL

I laughed, Bev--in a good way. He was really on a roll last night, with all his hopes and plans. He was asking about the lower portion of the yard, would it be a good place for bees, etc...I told him, that aside from the books I had given him, he should check out your blog and maybe email you a time or two with questions as he gets more interested. He's not allergic, but I have seen him RUN from a wasp before, so I'm hoping he's aware of the "dangers"

My hubby bought me my MJF IdeaBook and thumbed through it first before we were even home! :D I don't think he caught the farmgirl fever, but it was cool to see him pause to read a page here and there.

I love it Jonni! I hope your hubby keeps enjoying the farmy things!

Jonni - How great to hear about your hubby catching the farmgirl fever. My husband loves the photographs in the books and magazines. Did you know that Hobby Farm Magazine is actually out of Lexington, KY? They usually have some good articles in there as well. I have some contacts on beekeeping so if you need any, let me know!

Our hubbies are so funny, aren't they? Mine has looked through my Idea book and loves it when I make a new apron and really seems to get a kick out of all us girls talking "business".

But I guess I just have to let you gals in on this: When we first started our chapter last May and our packet arrived; under NO circumstances was I to put that bumper sticker on either vehicle! He was not about to have a farm GIRL sticker in a vehicle HE would be driving. The subject came up many times over the summer and I never won. UNTIL...MaryJane came to town in September. After he met her, that bumper sticker went on our truck so fast, I didn't even see him do it. He must have put it on within minutes of meeting her!

That's great, Lisa! I'm actually enjoying this side of him--his "moms" stopped in for lunch where he works today and he told them about the bee keeping seminar! They just called me from the car to ask "what was up" in a good way :) Tickles me. I just spoke with him a minute ago, getting all the dates squared away for the next few weekends and he said, "Just to make sure, there's nothing on the 25th, right? Because, that's the Bee keeping Seminar!" Alrightee then!
