I wasn't sure where to post this but since mail art is in this section I'd thought I'd put it here.
That said, I was wondering where everyone finds their supplies? Do you purchase online or from a certain craft store or what?

Thanks,
Denise

Yesterday I went to a scrap booking store the first time and it was FUN...they have so many beautiful papers and supplies. It was great to use their tools (punches, stamps, fancy scissors etc.)and to kick back with all that open workspace. My friend and I got coffees on the way and visited for hours while we 'worked'. I also really like fine paper stores, though you can't afford as much many of the papers are handmade and they often have affordable little scrap packs that are WAY beyond what you would find at a mainstream store. The one I went to was in Santa Monica but I forget the name.

Thanks Rebekka.
I usually check out MIchaels because they are the only close on to us.
I thought maybe sonmeone would have some websites to check out.
Always like to shop online since we don't have much near us.

Hi Denise :) I like the stores but also online too. For smaller papers sometimes old cards and especially those older envelopes with all the cut outs have some really interesting paapers that have been used on them.I just flip them over if i dont want the words. Online is great cause alot of people are putting together collections of things . Ideals magazines when you can find them --have beautiful vintage type pictures to reuse and their paper is thick and had a really nice feel to it. I have found old atationeary at yard sales for a quarter and such . Watch for yard sales in neighborhoods where alot of the people are older. If you have a freecycle --you can even post you are looking for old stationary. Dollar tree has some cool papers sometimes in their aisle where all the school supplies are also .

forgot to tell you --old rolls of wallpaper is also alot of fun to use. Sometimes wall paper stores will have their old pattern books for free or a dollar or two. Or rolls of wall paper they are clearing out for few bucks.

Hi Lisa,
Thanks for the ideas. Never thought of the wallpaper and yard sales really. Have to check out the thrift stores too I guess.
