Girls, I am searching for a pattern of a long sleeved slip (ever heard of one?). My 80 year old mother-in-law wears long sleeved dresses all the time(religious reasons). Well, she stays cold in the winter time. I thought if I could find a pattern of a long sleeved slip, I might do her a few in flannel. They would be much warmer for her.

That's really sweet of you Joy - I'm wondering if a simple nightgown pattern might work - if you can't find a slip pattern.

Yes, I bet that would work. I could do white flannel or maybe an off white...

Hi Jem! I have a vintage pattern for a long sleeved "undergarment" that is like a slip. I'll get it out tomorrow and see what the size is and email the info to you. I am larger than an 8-10 and it fit me when I made it to go under a period 1800's costume. It's really plain though, no ruffles etc. although you could add them probably easy :) It's from the 30's so not much direction on the pattern, it even came in the envelope precut *~*

That sounds great Sissy. If it did have ruffles etc. I would have to leave them off. My MIL is very religious and would not wear anything that she thought would catch attention. (for real)She is 80+ so I dont think there is any changing her now.

I would think about using a simple shirt pattern that fit like you'd like and just flare it out at the bottom some for the hips and cut straight down to the length you want. I guess I am saying just make a shirt very very long.
