Does anyone have any detoxification ideas? Nothing drastic, just something to clean out my system.I have been reading a little bit about some of the things, but they all seem drastic. Any ideas are appreciated ; )

Well, right now I am drinking green smoothies in the morning, snacking on fruit mid morning, a nice hearty salad at lunch (as many raw vegetables as I can cut up and add) with a light vinagrette (olive oil, vinegar, mustard, salt, pepper and a little honey), fruit again and another smoothie at night. I haven't been feeling well so I am trying to up my healthy quotient. I also have only been drinking water. I cut out all coffee and diet soda. So far, the headache from coffee withdrawal lasted 2 days and I have been spending a lot more time in the bathroom : ), but overall, I feel about 40% better already, in just 8 days. Hope this helps.
Cheers, Heather |

THere is a mild detox tea you can get if you don't want anything drastic. You can find it in most tea section sof the grocery t\store or at the health food store. FOr me, which by the way I am gearing up to do again because I fell of the wagon, is to cut out processed sugar. When I was able to stay off white sugar for 6 months, I felt SO much better. My hands quit feeling like they were swollen in the morning, my stomach felt better and my headaches were much farther in between. Just a couple of thoughts! Let us know if you find something that works really well for you!

I don't typically "detox," but when I'm feeling off, I find that drinking some kombucha does wonders for me. I'm especially fond of the raspberry-flavored kind from GT: http://www.gtskombucha.com/

I have a very good book on detoxing. Detox Solutions by Helen Foster. It has 14 easy plans for detoxing specific areas. I had good luck with it and it did not call for items that where hard to find. The plans are not as strict or severe as some detoxing and I did not have that flu, sick feelings that I have had with other plans. I got the book at a half price book store but I'm sure Googleing it you would find it. It had great pictures with it to that I found inspiring.
