I purchased a new dress form. Some of you may know my current form, Valerie,

well, in my crafting adventures today working on my super secret and super fabulous WIP to be revealed sometime in the coming months, I realized that Valerie is getting much too old and used. SOOOOOO she is going to stand proud int he corner dressed to the nines and a new form will be taking her place.

I am hosting a contest to name my new dress form,

Winner gets a nice brand new sewn by me Edwardian apron.

Contest ends at the end of January. Enter in this thread not by email!

have fun!

I think her name should be Eloise or Ester. It is an old fashioned country name. Or even Mary Ellen.

Mademoiselle is French, no? Do you recall the beautiful orphan child raised by Mr. Rochester in the story of Jane Eyre? "Ade'le" is a lovely but empty headed child, the daughter of a celebrated Parisian actress. She is a petted and indulged girl who cares only for fine fabrics, dresses, sweets and other pretty things. Rochester employs Jane as Adele's governess, hoping she can quell Adele's appetites. However, Adele's penchant for life's finer things seems to be firmly established. Perhaps you will have better luck than poor Jane...but I fear that once the "newcomer" sees Valerie in all her finery it may just arouse her own penchant for silk, lace and the like.

I think either Odette or Odille....Swan Lake calls to me with that lovely, snow-white form.
