Spinach Salad Dressing

2 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp dry mustard (not the hot kind)
6 tbsp olive oil (I prefer organic canola as it's lighter)
2-3 tbsp vinegar (red wine vinegar is really nice)
1 clove minced garlic
pinch of dry taragon

This is so good served with grated hardboiled egg & crumbled bacon.

Garlic Dill Dressing

1 med jar salad dressing (not mayo)
6 cloves garlic
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp dill
1/2 cup light oil
1/2 cup cream

This is the original recipe and is sooo good. But I thin it with skim milk instead of cream to keep it lighter.

Fresh Italian Dressing

2 minced garlic cloves
2 tsp sugar
2 tsp dried mustard
salt & pepper to taste
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup organic canola oil
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
2 tsp chopped fresh marjoram
1 tsp chopped fresh oregano

French Dressing

2 tsp tomato paste
1 1/2 tsp sugar
1 tsp finely grated onion
1 tsp dried mustard
3/4 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp coarse salt
1/4 tsp celery salt
4 1/2 tsp red wine vinegar
1 1/2 tsp lemon juice
1/2 cup organic canola oil

Apricot Sesame Dressing

1 tsp cornstarch
1/8 tsp garlic powder
1/8 tsp ground ginger
1 - 5 1/2 oz. tin apricot nectar
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1 tbsp honey
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp toasted sesame seeds

In a small saucepan, combine cornstarch, garlic powder and ginger. Stir in apricot nectar, vinegar, honey and oil. Cook, stirring contantly, till thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 2 minutes more. Cover and chill, stir before serving. Sprinkle sesame seeds over mixed greens.

These sound wonderful! Part of our new year's resolution is to wean off bottled dressing. Thanks. Now if anyone can tell me how to wean the girls off that nasty ranch stuff, Erg!

I love deadlines. I especially like the whooshing sound they make as they go flying by. ~anon

That garlic dill and the Italian sound sooo yummy!!! Thanks for posting. My spinach salad dressing is very similar to yours, and I use it kindof multipurposely and I'm glad to have a change. I really do love vinagerettes!!
