Hi FarmGirls, Well I am new at this, so I am trying this for the third time! I live in a very small town in the South Western corner of Colorado, the Four Corners area. I am married to a great guy, and have two grown-up kids, (son and daughter), and Son and his wife are expecting in late June-early July. My town is so small I think it's considered rural by some. I work with Senior Citizens and Tribal Elders, and I really love my job. I have been reading all of you for a long time, and decided to plunge in this year. I love anything old, and enjoy sewing, embroidery and a lot of the old-fashioned ways that our pioneer mothers had. I have been wearing aprons for YEARS so I just love that the apron lady is here too. Actually, you are all apron ladies! Looking forward to meeting you all!

Welcome, welcome Kathy! I'm really glad to meet you--tried to catch up over there on our thread about missing Miss Bee Haven/Loving hot actors, but I think you'd moved on! Sounds like your life is beautiful and I'd love to hear more about working with tribal elders. My daddy was half Cherokee, his father full, so I'm a bit of Cherokee, but you'd never know it, sadly.
Where is Ignacio? We used to spend time in Floriscent and Monument CO while I was growing up.
I'm a Kentucky girl with 4 dogs and 3 cats and a husband who has a distaste for condiments (as discussed earlier today :)) but who is a wonderful musician. We live in Northern Kentucky, with a small bit of land, a lovely little cottage and the heat turned WAY up tonight!!!!
Enjoy yourself and keep posting!!! You'll love it here!

Hi Jonni and Jenny,Thanks for the welcome! Ignacio is way in the left-hand bottom corner of Colorado,by Durango.I actually live on the Southern Ute Indian Reservation,(although I am not personally Southern Ute), but in the town of Ignacio. We are a tri-ethnic community. It is VERY cold here tonight too. Jenny, I am ashamed to say I have never been to Utah, but I've always wanted to visit there. Maybe someday!

Welcome Kathy. You don't live too far from where my mother lives - Monte Vista in the San Luis Valley. Her family (who are Kataba Indian) have lived in Sanford, CO since the 1800's. I have a cousin who lives in Cortez with her family and I went to Adams State College in Alamosa way back in the mid-60's. We get down to that area quite a bit to see my mother who is ailing.
Sounds like you'll fit right in here. Look forward to hearing more about your family, life and work. Welcome again.
