I am so happy everyone! It looks like everything is falling very quickly back into place for me! I am so _thrilled_.
Okay so here is the story:
During my pregnancy I had _horrible_ morning sickness. I was sick from the beginning of August to the end of November.
Well, being the stubborn creature that I am, I still tried to attend a semester of college before Nora was born. It didn't work out so well. So I got a note from the doctor saying I had to have a medical withdrawl. For some reason or another the medical withdrawl didn't get completed. So I effectively flunked every single class I took that semester. All 15 credits. Ouch.
So I tried to get back in this fall, but with a wedding, and Nora still being new, plus my Dean thinking it would be better if I had one more semester off- I waited until this semester to get back in.
It has been a long process of petitions, going to offices to talk with people, making arrangments, and then last week I checked my financial aid which was supposed to be a sizable sum and--- poof!! It was gone!
So today I have been calling the college and getting my financial aid back and Friday, as long as my petition goes well, I should be able to register for college! YAY!
I am so excited!

So very cool for you. I also had to withdraw form a number of classes and ended up with "F's". Really does a number on your GPA. But after fighting my way back to school, finished 2 years with a 3.98 GPA (showed them all). You go girl, work hard and you can have it all!

Congratulations!! I've been there myself. My guidence counselor suggested for me to take a few easier classes that would be sure A's to help bring up my GPA for my financial aid. So I did and it worked. I hope it all works out for you. Going back to school with a baby and husband is soooo hard, but if you're determined enough you can do anything. If I could do it, anyone can. I'm really glad that you are hanging in there and staying in school. That degree means a whole lot and helps with job opportunities and learning more about others and yourself. I hope that you are able to get your financial aid and continue your studies. :)

Congradulations Alee!!! I think a college education is sooo important in soo many ways! What a good role model for little Nora!! Many hugs! Oh! I've heard it said that when you educate a man you educate one person, but when you educate a woman you educate a family!!!!

Alee- what are you going to study? it's funny that you are excited! i'm not sure i would be so excited, i hope inever have to go back to "school" i tried right after HS, didn't last a mth. work got the most of me- shoot now i can't even see myself at a regular job! haha! anyway i know it wasn't God's plan for me to go to school because i had not learned my passion yet, i was just going because it was expected. it took having baby #3 to learn what i wanted to study--natural healing!!! i hope to be able to take classes from home next year. i just don't enjoy being around all the people at regular schools, and taking classes just for the hrs. really happy for you to get the ball moving in your direction- remember that Gods timing is perfect!!! that makes our future exciting!

Yay for you Alee! WE will be in college together. Maybe we can motivate each other. I have decided to take a big load (16 credits) this semester. It is my last huge semester of college and I want to get it out of the way. When would you graduate? Maybe we could have a farmgirl college graduation!! That would be awesome...instead of diplomas we could give out aprons.
And Betty Jo!! Way to go on the GPA!! I had to let my A and P slip due to a number of things and flunked. It brought my GPA down but I am not out...you are an inspiration to me!!!
Cheers, Heather |
