You know what book I'm reminiscing about Linnea in Monet's Garden. The Linnea books. That was my first real encounter with seeds, plants, nature etc. There was a book in the set that had you plant things according to season. I LOVE HER and the books. Great for kids. You can get them CHEAP and used on amazon. Great for if you have a girl to buy for.

i adore these books .. have a couple of the dollies (and the outfits) .. several years ago .. she was my 'travelling' dolly in our doll club. we all swapped dolls for a month .. for a total of six homes visited in six months. everyone added a little something to each of the dolls who visited .. they took a 'journal' with them and the 'hostessing' families wrote stories of their adventures. i will save mine for little sofia someday.

My daughter's name is Linnea! It's a very Swedish name. When she was a baby, we found out about the Linnea books and got the video of "Linnea in Monet's Garden". When they translated it into English, the called her "LYNN-ee-ah" instead of "Lah-NAY-ah". So much for that! The books are great, though. And did you know that the name stands for twin flowers? Pretty, delicate little flowers.

Karin (I have another Scandinavian name!)

I did look up the name and found out its meaning, I was like it's so different and pretty. I think travelling dolls would be fun!! Wonder if we could do that here?

My daughter has that book. It was one of her favorites when she was a little girl. Linnea (the doll) still sits on the book shelf with her little straw hat, watching over things and hoping that she will be taken down and played with again.
It is such a sweet story. If you haven't read it, do. You don't even need a daughter to read it to. It's a great girl book. Aren't you a girl?

Thank you for reminding me about the Linnea books! I read them when I was younger, and now I want to look through them again. After reading Linnea in Monet's Garden, years ago, my mother and sister and I planned a tea for Valentine's Day using recipes from a Monet cookbook. Of course, our Linnea dolls attended. It was great fun.

cool:) that sounds so cute Elizabeth! It made me wild for Monet's work. I even did a paining like his poppy field one. I have to dig mine out but I'm in love with them AGAIN. I forgot about them.
