I wasn't sure where to put this. Is anyone up to date on this chemical?

We watched this news segment last week or so:

Which has us concerned. We do eat some canned foods still. My dh wants me to start cutting them out now.

I feel like I've had my head in the sand, I've known nothing about this. I don't want to go all "chicken little" - but I need to keep my family safe. I have 2 girls. I don't need them eating/drinking this chemical that I heard was made to be an estrogen replacement drug originally????

Can anyone help with more info?
