I found a quick cute pattern for a "warmer" for the neck, that I'm making for my mom out of baby alpaca (in a lovely pink), that I'm going to decorate with vintage rhinestone pins so that she can remove them for washing. The pattern called for bulky alpaca (size 15) but my mom is small and I didn't want it to be TOO bulky for her neck, so I chose baby chunky alpaca, size 11 needles....and it's curling, which I know Stockinette is wont to do....

Can you block it so it doesn't curl? When I fasten the two ends together, I think it will make some difference, but not much. Any ideas?

Jonni I think if you knit the first two stitches of each row it will prevent it from curling. I've done this with scarves and it works really well and also gives the edge a nice finished border look.

If you've already knitted it, you can crochet a chain up the side to give it additional stability.
