This may be too corny for some of you, but our family really enjoys the Hank the Cowdog series. For car trips it cracks us up, from the 3 year old all the way up to my husband and I. Yes, some people think it's dumb, etc. . .but hey, it's entertaining and silly. There are books, but the cd's are read by the author, with voices, etc. . .worth a listen (and a laugh!)

Hey Sheila!
Okay I am in. I just found them on ebay not to many at amazon. I have 5 grand children 3 boys two girls all under 9.
Which ones do you recommend? There are a lot to choose from.
And thank you sooo much for your recommendation!

We haven't found one we didn't enjoy! But as to favorites. . .I think the Watermelon Patch Mystery is among our most favorite! They're lots of fun to listen to! and the watermelon patch one has a great silly song in it as well. Hope they enjoy them! I've actually bought ours on Amazon, though we get a lot through interlibrary loan as well!

Hey Sheila,
I have been looking for that watermellon patch mystery.
Is there a number for it. All the ones I have been looking at have book 1 book A1 and so on but I have not found the watermellon patch one.
Thanks so much.

I adore the Hank the cowdog series!!! At bookmobile today (and every bookmobile) the kids checked out all that he had on the bookmobile. We have listened to the audio books too...they are so fun!

Hi Faith, the number on our cd case for the watermelon patch one is A2. If you go on amazon and search for hank watermelon it's the first thing that comes up. Good luck and enjoy! And Jenny, glad to hear we're not the only ones who this cracks up!
