My mom is hoping to move from her home into a retirement community within the next few months and that means some MAJOR downsizing! She has all kinds of stuff, including a big set of china of my grandmother's, some crystal, silver, etc. While there are many things we'd like to keep, there are also many things we're hoping to sell. We're not sure how to find out their value and/or sell them, though. Any suggestions? We live in the Spokane-area.
Thanks! Karin |

Wow! I bet she has some beautiful items!
For things that you would like to get rid of- how about opening a booth here on Farmgirl barter. You could give each item a number and then post pictures with the number next to it- then people could email you offers and at the end of a set date (say a week or two) the best offer wins. I did that earlier this year, if you remember, and it worked wonderfully. Then anything you don't sell here, you could E-bay.
E-Bay is a great indicator of current market prices as it is basically pure commerace in action.
Oh and I would be willing to come pick up any china/teacups (just kidding...well sortof). *hugs*

Have booths :Farmgir;s, fleamarkets, yardsales and when you have sold and got what you wanted sold and have lots of little things left call an auctioneer.

Look for a reputable estate sale dealer in your area. (Ask for references.) They will come in and price your items fairly. They do charge a % of the total, but then they do all the work- sorting, pricing, displaying, selling, etc. It is probably the least-stress route for you and your mom. Although, a little farmgirl auction for some things sounds pretty fun too. :)
