Hi Everyone!
It sounds like everyone has been working hard on their Farmgirl Chapter Journals. They are a great way to put down on paper a tiny snapshot of what each member or the chapter is like. After you have created your Chapter journal, it is a great thing to have around as the first entry into a Farmgirl Chapter Library, and it can also be a lot of fun to join a round robin style traveling Chapter journal project!
That’s right! The idea of having our Chapter Journals travel has never been farm from our mind and we are going to be getting this going again!
Chapter Leaders who want to participate need to email me at alee@maryjanesfarm.org . When you email me, please include a mailing address for your chapter and all contact information including phone number. All contact information will be kept confidential.
I will then add you to the list. You will send whatever Chapter journal you have to the Farmgirl chapter that is above you on the list. The person in the number one spot will send it to the last person on the list. Once you receive your journal back it will have gone full circle and met so many farmgirl friends.
I would suggest writing a letter to go along with your journal. If you would like other chapters to add a “We were here” note to your chapter journal, please state so in your letter. Likewise if you would prefer it to be a “read only” journal, please state that as well.
One other final thought. These journals have a lot of heart and soul poured into them. If your chapter signs up to participate, you must take a solemn pledge to treat them with care and send them along in a timely manner. You also might consider getting your chapter journal scanned and re-printed at your local print shop and sending the replica around instead of the original. Also please keep in mind that once the virtual Henhouses are up and running, scans of the pages can be put there for all to see. It is up to each chapter what they feel is best.
