What a week! I am back after a whirlwind trip by plane to Calif (left MOnday morning and got back Friday late afternoon) to see my oldest son, who is being activated in the Army after being an inactive reserve for many years. He leaves to go to Ft. Jackon SC this weekend. He reports on the 25th. It was wonderful to see him, as well as second son..my baby for so many years, and my perfect granddaughter..as well as most of my family I grew up in too. They kept me busy with bbqs, shopping and visiting and I am still worn out!! I am so so so glad I went. I have to say..traveling alone was something I had NEVER done before. I kind of liked it, but felt like I was forgetting something all week!! (4 little kids!!!)
It was such an emotional goodbye at the airport Friday morning, but since I was late getting there and barely made the flight (I read the time wrong..oops!) I didn't have time to really really embarrass my son. Please keep him in your prayers as he travels and deploys. He will be in SC for the first 25 days. His fiance is going there at Christmas time to hopefully see him. She is wonderful and perfect for him. Other son has a great girlfriend right now too. I wish I could have seen Son #3..but it didnt' work out. He is 3 hours from the other two. I am so glad to be home..but so glad I got to go tooo.

Yeah! What fun -- the military always ensures adventures (traveling alone) and no dull moments that's for sure! whether it's the service member or their family! You really can either come away broken and bitter as heck or more able to embrace life and the blessings of the moment!

Prov. 3:5-6

Blessings,

I'm happy to hear that you are back safe and sound, and that you had such a wonderful time with your boy. You've been on my mind all week, so I'm really happy to hear from you! Have a wonderful Turkey day too! Love, Lu
